Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays No.14

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday with family and friends...what a great way to kick off the summer season! I'm here at our beach condo soaking up the beautiful Alabama coast (yes...we are OIL FREE)...come on down and join us here...we will show you some wonderful southern hospitality! Now...on to the PARTY...I did not go out thriftin this week, but I did just finish a THRIFTY project...total cost was $1.50. I told you a while back that I was adding some THRIFTY curtains to my screen porch...well I did just that...with a big supply of white sheets (these came from two beach condos that we sold 3 years ago...they have just been taking up room in the linen closet...that place is way too full)...so the idea was born! I have been wanting to install some curtains out there and was planning on buying some white 100% polyester fabric...thinking that this fabric would hold up well outside and would be easy on the pocketbook, but then I remember that I had all those white sheets that were FREE and I LOVE FREE! So I guess you are wondering why it cost me $1.50...well ladies I had to buy some clips to hang them up with and yes...I spent a whopping $1.50 for six packages of clips! Each package was $5.99...then on clearance for .99...then 75% off the .99 price...at the time I bought these, I had no idea what I was going to do with them, but I knew they would come in handy and they did! Now...what did you find this week or what kind of THRIFTY project did you complete?

****Please everyone, follow these guidelines!****
1. Be sure to refer back to my blog so everyone can see who is participating today, include the NTT button in your post (copy and paste the html code under the button…the button is located on my sidebar). Please make sure that you have put my NTT button or my blog name with a link on your post. I have seen that some of you have forgot to do this…so this is just a sweet reminder.
2. This party is for sharing thrifty finds from garage sales, thrift stores, consignment shops, craigslist and even those awesome deals that you find at any retail store. Please do not link to an Esty shop or something similar (I will delete the link). If I see that your post is not really on track with the NTT theme and also if you don't link back, I'll delete your link...please don't make me do this. It's common courtesy to link back to the person having the party, so that all of your readers can find it too.
3. Please go and visit the other participates and leave a comment about their treasures and thrifty ideas…this is what makes the PAR-TAY so much FUN! What a great way to meet new friends.

I'm linking up to these FUN PARTIES...hop over and join me!

Hi Linda,

I look everywhere for those back in March and they were anywhere from 8-12 per pack of 6. You got lucky!!! And the curtains look great.

Your porch reminds me of the cottage I stayed in when I vistied Tybee Tides last month. They even had the curtains like that too. I've never been to AL coast. Actually, I had reservations when hurricane Ivan came in and they were canceled. I need to try and get back down that way again. I bet it's beautiful and you're so lucky to live there.

Well, enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I just love your whole porch! The white curtain make it all that much better. I really miss my screened porch. I have a screen over the pool but it's not the same. I miss having the covered roof and sitting out there when its raining. Yours is great!

Hi Linda~

Your screened in porch is wonderful, and the curtains look
perfect! I love the twine ties you used on them, and the metal clips were not only a great deal, but they look fantastic with the curtains! Oh, and I also LOVE your porch screen door! :)

I hope you have a beautiful Memorial Day! :)

Curtains for $1.50 and more storage room in the linen closet. Sounds like a win-win situation to me.

Plus, they look fabulous! Your porch is so inviting and I'm glad to hear you're oil free.

Thanks for having me this week, you're such a doll!

The perfect touch for your lovely porch. Purchasing a few little clips is nothing when the curtains are free. Your spot looks great!

Congrats on being oil free :)

You are so smart, what could look nicer than crisp white drapes! How about a strip of burlap to tie them back with, might also look nice. I would love to visit your porch and share a cup of tea with you!!

How lovely to be settled in to the cottage; the curtains look fantastic. I've been considering adding draperies to our conservator; the light is wonderful in the cooler months, but oh wow -- summer sun from 3 sides and the translucent roof can be a little much! I may steal your idea.

Happy Thrifting!

Great curtains! I can't count the times I've used sheets for curtains. I've moved 33 times since I was 21! Sheets and Iron-on tape made the most versatile & reconfigurable curtains! These look great and if you ever move...Well, I wish I could come on down and enjoy the beach with you all!
