Fall Nesting On The Coast

I'm seating here with my laptop and watching the evening news and I just about fell out of my chair when I heard that our temps will be in the 60's next week...it's really FALL here Y'ALL!!!! I'm so excited about our lower temps and it has really put me into a FALL NESTING mood...how about you? I'm sure a lot of you are way ahead of me and that's okay...I will give it my best and catch up with you soon...watch out here I come! When I pulled out my fall wreath from last year something just didn't click and I knew right then that I wanted something NEW and FRESH for this year...only one problem...I had promised myself that I would not spend any money on NEW fall decor and I didn't. Do you remember that wicker wall basket that I had in my beach condo? Well if you don't remember it...then go here and check it out to see how I was using it in my kitchen. Now my pantry door is hosting a fun and simple wreath that I will be sharing with you at a later date...so stay tuned. Today we will be checking out the front door and walkway...remember I shopped my house and didn't spend any moola!

Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays No.31

Finally it's starting to feel like FALL here on the gulf coast...our forecast for the week has our temps in the 80's! I know that to some of you that still doesn't come near your FALL temps, but for us it's HUGE...we are finally getting out of the 90's...so with these cooler temps what's a gal to do? Get a move on and start some FALL NESTING! It's going to be a lot of fun this year because I will be shopping my house instead of going out and buying MORE stuff...on top of that...I'm winning some brownie points with Mr.CC (he is all about me cutting back on home decor...MEN)! Now you know what I have been up to...so now it's your turn to share with all of us what you have been doing!

Do you remember these FREE flowers that I found at the dumpster last month while I was moving my daughter into her new college condo?


I used a $8 vase that I found last year in a home decor consignment shop and added some bamboo from one of my favorite stores...DOLLAR TREE!

Thank You Donna...I Love It!!!!

A year ago when I first started blogging I meet Donna@Sugar,Spice and Southern Life and right away I knew we would bond...I'm not sure what is was...maybe it's because we are both SOUTHERN GALS!!! I'm looking forward to meeting Donna in person one day...I have not met a blogger friend yet...have you? I'm sure it will be really "COOL" to be able to actually talk in person...I'm not a shy person and I don't think she is...sooooo I'm sure we will have a fun day chatting it up! Donna knows that I'm a huge AUBURN fan and this gal loooves to sew...so guess what? This SWEET gal made me the cutest hand towel in our ORANGE and BLUE colors with my initial on it and I have proudly displayed it next to another Auburn hand towel in my kitchen...I'm lovin all the ORANGE decor in my home! Last October I did a re-model in my kitchen and added the color ORANGE in the decor...so know it's really funny that I can slip in some AUBURN items...I think Mr.CC likes it too! Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays No.30

If you are not from the SOUTH then you might not know what COLLEGE FOOTBALL means to us...it's what we do every Saturday for three months...don't even think about having a wedding during these months and if you do...well you can count on having a very small crowd show up...I'm telling you...we have it bad!!! Since I'm one of these crazy fans then I miss out on going to garage sales during the big season, but I still can hit the thrift stores and that's just what I did last week. We usually were ORANGE tops to our games, but this week we were playing a team that also wears ORANGE so our school decided to wear our other school color...NAVY! I'm not a fan of navy and I don't own one navy top...so off to the thrift store I go...got really lucky and found a Tommy Hilfiger top for only...$1.00!!! Now Mr.CC also needed a NAVY shirt...so let's see what he spent on his...let me just say this...he didn't buy his at the thrift store...can you believe this?...he paid $45 for his...I guess we now know who's the THRIFTY one in this family!!! I can say this...he looked really good in his non-thrifty shirt...so that makes it okay in my book! Now what did you find this week while out THRIFTIN?

All ready for another down to the wire game...yes we went into overtime...and we WON!!! That's a good thing, since we had paid way too much for our tickets...I admit when it comes to AUBURN FOOTBALL I throw the word THRIFTY right out the door!!!



Now Haley's boyfriend is an ALABAMA alumni...so NO NAVY for him on GAMEDAY!!!



Guess my girls didn't get the e-mail about the navy tops...guess that's why Mary Claire stood out in the student section...yes that girl was on national TV again!!! Almost every home game she makes it on TV or on the jumbo screen in the stadium...even made the front page of the Auburn newspaper...now that's my girl!!!

Are You Ready?

It's that time of year...COLLEGE FOOTBALL is here and this old gal is soooooo ready for some AWESOME AUBURN FOOTBALL!!!! If you don't already know...I'm a HUGE AUBURN FOOTBALL FAN...LOVE my TIGERS!!! Mr.CC and I both really enjoy watching college football...it's our favorite thing to do together as a couple. Tonight is the first game of the 2010 season...so guess what we will be doing?...yes...you are right...we will be right there in front of the TV watching USM play South Carolina...I'm still not sure who I will be pulling for...decisions! Our first game will kick off on Saturday night...I still can't believe that we will not be there in person to start the 2010 season off...this will be the first time in six years that we have not been there for the first game, but come September 18...we will be there to help cheer on our TIGERS!!!! I thought I would share some pics from last year...it was a good year for us and we are hoping that this year will be even better...so I'm going to wrap this up with a big WAR EAGLE!!!
