Nifty Thrifty Tuesday No.99

Just think y'all, this time next week, we will be celebrating NIFTY THRIFTY TUESDAY NO.100! WOW, have we really had 100 parties? I have had very little time to go through the links since we were at our beach condo installing new flooring and then went out of town on Saturday. Thank you for the wonderful turnout, I think it was the biggest one yet:) I did manage to choose a few to feature though. Thrifty Flooring...The Reveal

I feel very lucky to own beach front property...our lord has really blessed my family and given us this wonderful home for us to enjoy. We purchased this condo back in 2003 and at that time, I never really thought that we would keep it this long, but we have and I am sure glad we still call it HOME. While eating our dinner tonight, just look at the view we had, it just doesn't get any better than this! Okay, I'm sure that you are here because you want to see the reveal of my THRIFTY FLOORING...right? Well, we are all finish and here they are! Sorry that the pics are not better, but it was after dark and we don't have very good lighting in this room.

TOTAL cost...$240.

                         This is a very SMALL bedroom and
                        most of the floor is hidden by furniture,
                        so that was the reason that I went the
                            THRIFTY route on this flooring.

                                Oh no...looks like I didn't do a real
                                 good job mopping...I guess I was
                                just worn out! Now don't look to the
                                 left, okay I knew you would:) We
                                 know we still have a small piece of
                                 molding to install, but we forgot to
                                 bring the correct saw with us...next
                                                      trip!

                             The look and feel of handscraped
                                wood floors for just pennies.
                             I don't think that I would put these
                            in just any room, but I do think that
                           they are perfect for some places, like
                                      this coastal bedroom.

                                Never thought that peel and stick
                                could look and feel this good...
                                learn something new every day.

                               So very EASY to install!!!

                      Best tip that I can give you is, make sure that
                      your first row is on a straight line. We used a
                                            chalk line.

                          All beach homes need a grass skirt...

Thrifty Flooring

I am really not thrifty when it comes to flooring, but this time I went the thrifty route. In 26 years of marriage, Mr.CC and I have never installed peel and stick flooring until now. When I went looking for new flooring for a bedroom, I came across this self adhesive embossed vinyl plank and I was SOLD when I heard the price. It has the LOOK and FEEL of handscraped wood and best of all, we can install it and save a lot of money on installation. So are you wondering where this is going? It's going in a bedroom at our beach condo...oh yes...I'm at the beach with the balcony door open and enjoying hearing that wonderful sound of the surf (I could listen to it for hours). With the temps in the 70's, it feels like a spring day here and I'm okay with that. I better go for now and get back to work, please check back in for the reveal of the new floor...I think you will be surprise! I also will be sharing the brand and where you can find it.

Warm Winter Temps and Painting Up A Storm

Wearing shorts/t-shirt/flip flops while painting in January...can't get any better than that...can it? It has been in the 70's here for the past week and the forecast is calling for the same for the next ten days...oh happy day (you see...I'm not a winter gal). We have finished painting the kitchen, so you know what that means...right? When you change one thing, then other things need changing, so I have started the first piece of furniture that will get a makeover. I'm hoping that I will wrap this one up today, then off to the second victim.  When I get it all the makeovers finished, then I will share with y'all a tour of my new kitchen...until then...here is a sneak peek of the wall color and victim number one.

Frenchy Chair

Hope everyone is having one wonderful week...mine has been super busy and wonderful too. The last two days I have been getting some really deep discounted deals while out shopping...95% off at Pottery Barn will make any gal giddy! Here today, I'm sharing a DIY project that I did a few weeks ago...it's a FRENCHY CHAIR...if I say so myself...I'm very proud of it. Okay...now let's see what all the fuss is about...I'm sure that you are dying to see it (he he).

Nifty Thrifty Tuesday No.97

WOW...hard to believe that it is already mid January! Have you started any new thrifty DIY projects this year?  Today, I have started my first one, painting my kitchen. Are you kidding me? I thought you just painted that room...well I did...but that was two years ago. Oh yes...only a short two years later and I am painting it again, but I have been dreaming of a new color and you know...we all love our dreams to come true...don't we?  Looking forward to sharing it with y'all, when it's all done, think you will like it...I sure do. Today, I will be sharing some thrifty treasures that I have found. Who doesn't like finding real white ironstone for just pennies...I know I sure do. I'm not sharing the best deal with y'all today, that will come later, when my vintage china cabinet gets it's makeover (shame on me for teasing you like that).                     As soon as I saw this at a flea market back in
                    November...I knew that she would come home
                                 with me...love her style!!!

                        My large dough bowl has found a new home
                                         in my dining room.

                        Another thrifty treasure...found this tureen
                           at an estate sale...only $1.00! Okay...I
                           know the ladle is missing...but I'm
                           okay with that. Maybe I should add
                           a silver ladle that I have...yes...I
                                 think I will do just that!
