Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays No.23

Did you think that I had forgot about my own party? Well I didn't forget it...just a little bit late...so here we go!!!! Last week my daughters and I went out THRIFTIN'...we were looking for some items for Mary Claire's new condo in Auburn. It's so funny that now that Mary Claire is 20, that she likes the style of home decor that her mom sold in her shop when she was about 10 years younger...you see back then she absolutely hated going to thrift stores...estate/garage sales and antique shops and now she is asking me to go with her...I can say...I just LOVE it! We had a lot of luck finding just what we were looking for...some old shutters to make a headboard...a old window to display some of her college "PARTY PICS" in and I found this old mirror that I just couldn't pass up. We are leaving tomorrow to move her in...looking forward to helping her decorate her new place. She has been painting several pieces of furniture for about a week now and has done a great job...can't wait to share all of it with you...so stay tuned!
I hated paying $12 for this old window...that's retail to this THRIFTY GAL!
Love the style of this mirror...the royal blue color...well it has to GO! I knew I had to bring her home with me when I spotted the $7.50 price tag!
Think WHITE...ahhhh...she will look soooo PRETTY IN WHITE!!!!

****Please everyone, follow these guidelines!****
1. Be sure to refer back to my blog so everyone can see who is participating today, include the NTT button in your post (copy and paste the html code under the button…the button is located on my sidebar). Please make sure that you have put my NTT button or my blog name with a link on your post. I have seen that some of you have forgot to do this…so this is just a sweet reminder.
2. This party is for sharing thrifty finds from garage sales, thrift stores, consignment shops, craigslist and even those awesome deals that you find at any retail store. Please do not link to an Esty shop or something similar (I will delete the link). If I see that your post is not really on track with the NTT theme and also if you don't link back, I'll delete your link...please don't make me do this. It's common courtesy to link back to the person having the party, so that all of your readers can find it too.
3. Please go and visit the other participates and leave a comment about their treasures and thrifty ideas…this is what makes the PAR-TAY so much FUN! What a great way to meet new friends.

Linda,

I know how you feel about the girls wanting to go junking with us. It is fun watching them pick out things.
Try to stay cool tomorrow. Thank goodness, Caroline kept the same apartment, so for the first time in 7 years, we are not having to move a child back to campus!

And, yep that mirror is going to be beautiful in white.

Isn't it so much fun to help decorate and furnish for the kid's homes? I love when my two ask for help.
How cool that you got to go garage saling together. Hmm, wonder if I could get my daughter to curb shop with me?......ha, not a chance!

Hi Linda,
Thanks so much for hosting this is always such a great party. I know what you mean about retail...the window is great though. I love to go thrifting with my daughters too(18,and 11 year olds). I also LOVE your daughters name that is so pretty and not something you hear very often.

It is so great to see so many of the younger generation into repurposing and refinishing items instead of going out and buying new. My daughter and daughter in law love finding old items to make over. Does my heart good and gives me someone to go junking with!!!

I know what you mean about the daughter thing...my Savannah is starting to pitch in and get excited about projects, and she's coming to me for ideas on how to make things over. I'm definitely loving it. Lovely finds, especially that mirror. I totally see it white.

My daughter too is calling on me to accompany her to thrift stores and all those great places we go to where we kind find our treasures. I guess bringing her along when she was young paid off!! Yay!! I loved that mirror and I agree... it will look great white! Hugs!

I can't wait to see the "after" photo of the blue mirror. Now I could see that mirror painted aqua but painters tape blue is bad. White will be so much nicer. As always thanks for hosting this party. By the way you are entered 2 times for the giveaway. Have a great day.

I am so sorry Linda - I had such trouble trying to link to the link party (tried four times and kept getting an error message - and after refresh - still would not see the post - now it's there three times - lol). If there was a red X - I'd delete - but I'm not seeing it...

Beyond all that - I'm happy to have found your blog - Have a wonderful evening... Going to roam it now =)
