Hey y'all, you gotta get going early here in the deep South, with all the HOT temps we have. As most of you already know, I'm a "thrifty gal", I love saving some bucks, so I pick my own veggies. I also, really enjoy the trip out to the country. Well, I guess you already know what I am having for lunch today...yes...a big "tomato sandwich" is on the menu. I can't tell you, how much I enjoy these every summer. Do you eat them? My favorite is just, fresh sliced homegrown tomato...light mayo...pepper...white bread (this is the only time I eat white bread)...oh my...they are divine!!! Now, I do enjoy a good BLT sandwich too. Well, I better go and get my lunch made...I think I have worked up an appetite. Thanks for dropping by!
Blessings,
Linda
This farm is located in Grand Bay, Alabama.
Tonight, we will have some fried
green tomatoes, squash casserole,
fresh green beans and corn for dinner.
Here is a "fried green tomato" recipe, for
all of you that have not tried these...click here.
Some of our loot!!!
If you don't want to pick your own,
you can buy veggies that have already
been picked.
It's a job putting up veggies, but
it's well worth it in the end!
I'd love for you to stay connected with Coastal Charm!!!!

I have never had fried green tomatoes, but I have heard that they are great!
Linda, all of your veggies look so yummy! Yes mam, I love me a mater sandwich. I love fresh veggies and waiting patiently on my tomatoes to get ripe. I also enjoy a friend green tomato too! Thanks for the recipe. STAY COOL! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
They all look wonderful, so fresh. I could just go a tomato sandwich...
Oh my gosh, Linda, I LOVE fresh tomatoes! I would've eaten one before I ever got home - love them warm, just-picked! I have already been eating lots of cottage cheese and tomato salads, lots of cracked pepper, and Nabisco has a relatively new cracker, Rice Thins Sea Salt & Pepper, that taste awesome with it! I love tomato sandwiches with sliced cheese, lettuce, mayo and pepper too, and BLTs of course!
Love fresh veggies, and if you don't grow them yourself (and I don't), your method is definitely the best way to get them. Bon appetit!

we here in the north are not quite to the ripe stage yet. You have made my mouth water there is noting like fresh.

I love having veggie plates in the summer, straight from the garden! I'm growing tomatoes this year, but they are tiny! I mean REALLY tiny - like little peas! So weird!
Enjoy your supper!
Love a good BLT!
There is a u-pick of tomatoes? I am so jealous. Those tomatoes look delicious.
Linda, what beautiful pics of your veggies! I don't believe I've ever seen a field with that many tomatoes. I've been enjoying my tomato sandwiches too, and I like to add a slice of pepper jack cheese occasionally, when I'm feeling spicy!
Enjoy dinner tonight...it sounds like it's gonna be good.

We had fried green tomatoes at a restaurant in Coppell, TX on Monday night. They were delicious!
What a great farm, Linda! I've got some green tomatoes on the vine that are nice and large and begging to be fried. Mmmm..... Enjoy your bounty!
I would be interested in your squash cassorole! I can't eat fried foods and am always curious on how to prepare squash. I love your blog and really wish I could visit your store but that will probably never happen. I love the driftwood crabs wall hangings you have in your shop! They are so cute!!
Linda the best part of the summer season are the TOMATOES! I love them right off the vine, but also on half of a toasted everything bagel with Philly cream cheese, slice of fresh tomato and topped off with a basil leaf! Pick your own is the best. Anything with the freshest of ingredients is to die for. I am going to have to try your fried green tomato recipe...they look absolutely yummy!
Thank you for sharing at SYS and have a wonderful weekend.
XO Barbara
