Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays No.59 and a Invite to a NEW PARTY

I love to get a great deal and a couple of weeks ago...Home Depot was running a 4 day special on some garden items that I already had on my shopping list, so off I went to get me some bargains. They had just the right plants that I wanted for all my window boxes and flower pots...they were only .49 cents. We also loaded up on the mulch that we put in our flower beds...it was 50% off...$1.38/bag! I had a $10.00 off coupon from Lowe's (yes...they take Lowe's coupons)...so it really was like getting 20 free plants for my yard...can't go wrong with FREE!!! I still need a few more plants, so I will head out to our local flea market in a few weeks to get more...they have really great prices on plants too. I really never read the Home Depot and Lowe's ads, but after finding this ad, I will be checking them out more often. Link up and let's all see what incredible deals you found lately. Before you go, I want to invite all of y'all to a fun new THRIFTY PARTY called TREASURE HUNT THURSDAY...it's hosted by my friend Rhonda over at BLUE CREEK HOME. The party starts up on Wednesday nights and goes on for a few days, so please be sure to go by this week and join in on all the fun going on over there and tell her that I sent you by...click here to find her blog.
                                           Thanks for coming and please
be sure to invite your friends
                                                      to come join us,
                                                             Linda

Looks like I have a lot of work ahead of me...I just get
                                                      tired looking at it!
                                  My $5.00 palm...now don't think that I'm
keeping it in this ugly black pot...just
need to find that perfect one!

Linda, wow it took me three tries to link up. Mclinky must me acting up. I am so wanting to buy some flowers to plant in the yard and my pots. I have Leila tomorrow and then it is supposed to rain again. Can't get a break. Our yard just keeps getting wet over and over.

Hi Linda, What great deals you got on flowers. The boys and I went to Home Depot to start our flower shopping. My favorite time of the year. Now the rain just needs to slow down so we can start planting. Our yard it saturated.....we call it our Mosh Pit! Thanks so much for hosting.

I wish I'd known about that deal at HD...is it still going on? I'm hoping to get our back deck area cleaned up and some plants put in my wall planters before Sunday since I'm having the fam over for Easter. I did buy an outdoor rug at Penney's today (50% off!) and I think I'm going to order a new gazebo cover..it needs to be here by Saturday!

Have a good week!

I don't envy you all the work but I sure do envy all the room & how pretty it is going to look when you're done! We don't even HAVE flowers out in the stores to purchase yet...still too stinkin' cold! Hurry up, Spring! It was 42ยบ today at noon. :-(

My DH has his heirloom tomatoes started in peat pots in the sunroom. It will probably be another month before he can put them out, the way we're going.

Thanks for hosting the Nifty Thrifty. Now that I'm finally able to get outside to paint things (even in the cold) I'll have more to show so I can join in. I've just been piling it up in the garage, waiting!!!

Hugs,
Rett

Hi there! I've been planting and cleaning up the porch all week too. Love what you selected for your place. So pretty. That $5 palm with love that shady spot. I'm sure you'll find the right pot. I just hope what I planted makes it through the heat of summer. We have more shade this year with the oaks growing around us. Fingers crossed my herbs on the shady porch make it through...and that I can afford the water bill! lol

Hi Linda, when you get done with planting and mulching you can come to my house...lol! My plans are to start working in my yard/porches today. Not sure how much I'll get done though because pollen is still bad here.

Wow- you are organized, have a list, and took advantage of a great deal. Everything looks so cheerful. We are getting another round of snow this afternoon, at least 3 inches they say. So all I have done is clear ground of debris and sticks so far.

Sue said...

No yard work for me! It's pouring down rain and the creek is over its bank, big time! If it starts creeping any closer, I think I'll call the fire dept. and ask for sandbags! yikes! Have fun in the yard- wish I could find me a $5 palm to pot! ding-a-ling here accidentally posted twice because I didn't see my link- could you please delete #120? Sheesh....
hugs, Sue

Linda, Your flowers are beckoning me! We are still too cold for anything but the hardy pansies and I haven't had the heart to get them yet. But my Mother says she has had 82 summers and she's pretty sure it will happen again. Have a great time digging in the dirt!
