Okay ladies...has anybody ever heard of SOKOL'S? I bought these vintage glasses years ago because I loved the stripes and their colors, but I can't find any info about the name on them...HELP!!!! I'm thinking that maybe it was a grocery store or even maybe a drugstore...am I totally off? Last week I found this .69 cent beverage basket at GW and thought these cuties would look really great in it...whatcha think? Better go for now and do some housework...yuck!
Now y'all come back real soon,
Linda

I love the blogosphere! You put a question out there, and someone knows the answer. Love your glasses, and new basket. Great finds! Thanks for sharing.
OMGosh....she found out for you...too fun!
How fun...great basket for those vintage glasses.

Isn't Sokol a chewing tobacco? LOL

Sokol's Market and Catering in Queensbury has only been opened for approx. 30 years so I do not believe your glasses are a product from them. There is a SOKOL NEW YORK (see http://sokolnewyork.org/about/history/). The "AAU championships were won by Sokol New York teams in 1909 and again in 1910" but I do not see anything linking the glasses to them nor are the colors of the glasses that of the Czech and Slovak flags in the period of 1910.
Hope you find your answer! Love the basket!

I enjoyed visiting and seeing your vintage Sokol glasses.
Your glasses are so cool and I love the basket. It looks like you have some answers. :)
Have a great weekend!

How cool to get your answer and the great basket.
Hmm -there's a Munny Sokol park in Tuscaloosa and I remember it as a prominent name but nothing more than that. I searched around a little and found a reference to the old Sokol's dept store in B'ham.
Precious glasses!
Adorable glasses and they look great in the basket, but I have never heard of Sokol.
I love the answers so far!!!

I sure don't know, Linda, but they are awesome.
I'm glad someone knew about them. They are really different looking.
Well, I guess you found some answers. Love the caddy! My great grandma gave me a bunch of little glasses similar to these. She called them swigs. Yours are very unique! :)
very unusual glasses. I have no answers for you, but from the comments, it gives you a place to look some more. Hopefully, someone will recognize these and know more. Happy VTT!
It is interesting to read the comments on those vintage glasses. That's what I love about antiques. Always a story behind them!
How cute....perfect for a summer beverage!
Love the Sokol vintage glasses. I've actually seen some of these while rummaging through some antique stores.
