Fall Nesting On The Coast

I'm seating here with my laptop and watching the evening news and I just about fell out of my chair when I heard that our temps will be in the 60's next week...it's really FALL here Y'ALL!!!! I'm so excited about our lower temps and it has really put me into a FALL NESTING mood...how about you? I'm sure a lot of you are way ahead of me and that's okay...I will give it my best and catch up with you soon...watch out here I come! When I pulled out my fall wreath from last year something just didn't click and I knew right then that I wanted something NEW and FRESH for this year...only one problem...I had promised myself that I would not spend any money on NEW fall decor and I didn't. Do you remember that wicker wall basket that I had in my beach condo? Well if you don't remember it...then go here and check it out to see how I was using it in my kitchen. Now my pantry door is hosting a fun and simple wreath that I will be sharing with you at a later date...so stay tuned. Today we will be checking out the front door and walkway...remember I shopped my house and didn't spend any moola!

Linda I know what you mean! These cooler temps finally have me in the mood to decorate for fall!! Love your basket on the door...that is very clever. I'm trying to add just a few items to my decor and hoping they are thrifty finds or dollar tree only! Thanks for the inspiration!

Linda, isn't it wonderful to hear that temps will actually reflect the season (at least temporarily). Autumn is so wonderful and so short here in the midwest. I purchased a few fall items, but not too many since our season the season is so short. Pretty soon it's time to get out the Christmas decor (can't believe I even brought that up).

Linda send that cool weather on down to Orlando!! It is hard to get in the mood when it is in the 90's!

Linda,
Isn't the cooler weather nice!! I love your basket. I put together a basket Saturday that looks nearly like the one you put together! Mine is hanging on the closet door inside my front door.
Hugs,
Donna

Love the punkin in the urn and the colorful basket! I used one on my door, as well.
You'll catch up with the fall decor- I can understand not wanting to decorate when it's been so hot for you down there. I started a few weeks ago when we got our first taste of fall. Then it got hot again! LOL
I think I'm pretty much done, will just add Halloween in a few weeks.

I am all about shopping my house. It's fun, challenging and money saving. Three good things.

You've got some pretty stuff going on in your home. I'm in TN and am loving this wonderful weather. We are possibly getting into the 40s tonight. WOW!

Everything looks great and ready for fall!! I put mums in my pots on the porch but since it was still warm, I think I would have better off with pumpkins!! Have a great day!

What a pretty front door! It really is easier to get into the mood for fall when the temps aren't so high, isn't it?

Thanks for joining my party today! :-)

Hi Linda, love that basket. Especially love the pumpkin on the pine straw in the planter....so natural and so pretty! Yes, though we are Bulldogs, we yell "war Eagle" for our adult kids...we spent a lot of money at Auburn!. Linda

Thanks for stopping by today! I'm so glad that you did because I found yours! I am thinking about doing a wall basket full of flowers on my front door too (because my door is soooo ugly). Yours looks so good that I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and do it after all.
Many blessings,
Jenn

I love your basket, so pretty. I wish it were cooler on the West Coast...still in the high 90s and it's hard to believe I should be decorating for Fall.

I agree, it is chilly. You really did a wonderful job on your basket and I like the touch of the feather in it! Especially knowing that you saved $$. Way to go!

Hi Linda,
I just came back from the nice cool mountains to big floods here on the coast of NC!
The mountain air felt really wonderful and we are hoping for some cooler weather here.

I love your fall basket. I am going to try and make one for our door. Yours is gorgeous.

Like your basket! I like the "shop around the house" idea, as I said I was not buying anything new for Fall this year. I need to change out the wreath on my front door.

Your basket colors are gorgeous! Makes me want to roast a turkey and bake a pumpkin pie right now! Here in California, at least at my house, today is the first day of fall with a crispness to the air. We didn't really have a summer except for triple digit days just a week ago. Go figure!
Happy fall decorating!
