White Wednesday/Made in Occupied Japan

I'm joining in on WHITE WEDNESDAY over at FADED CHARM...please join Kathleen and all the other ladies for a FUN time!

Today I'm a little bit SAD...I have had this beautiful little WHITE antique shelf in my morning room for the past 10 years...and now I'm saying GOODBYE!!! This lovely little gem belonged to my MIL...the finished was not so good...so 10 years ago I painted it WHITE and hung it up to display a collection of occupied in Japan figurines that she had collected. This beauty looked wonderful in my SHABBY CHIC room...the colors were great...now the room is no longer SHABBY CHIC! I hope one day to pass these pretty little figurines on to my daughters...or maybe my grandchildren (I'm really looking forward to being a GiGi one day). I'm hoping to find another home for my shelf...I sure would hate for her to be homeless!
My MIL really had a good eye for beautiful things...Thank You Elvire!
I can just see some of these little cuties in a baby nursery!

I LOVE this cute little dog...don't you?

The shelf is so sweet and shabby. The little figurines are just precious, I think that little puppy one is pretty old. I have a couple from the 30's very similar and they were used for holding toothpicks! Have a great WW! Hope you find another spot for your darling shelf.

I hope you can find room somewhere for your shabby white shelf...it looks like a piece that would fit anywhere. The figurines are very cute. I have a small collection of older fox terrier figurines from Japan. I love them.
Happy WW.

I think you should find somewhere else in your home to hang this beautiful shelf. It's too pretty not to keep. I just love all the little figurines, so please don't hide it away.

eek! I cannot BELIEVE that you are getting rid of that beautiful shelf! It's darling!!! Did you think of painting it black (or whatever color you are going with) and distress it to match your decor? If I lived closer to you, I'd be at your doorstep for a personal pick up!!!! ;)
As for the little figurines, I'd say box those beauties up and save them for the little ones as heirlooms.
So nice to meet you Linda!
Keep in touch~

Hi, Linda! Just as your comment on my blog posted, I was thinking of coming over to visit you! Thanks so much for your sweet wishes.
I, too, am looking forward to the day when I'm "Marmie" to some small persons. (Hence, the name for my blog.)
I agree - these things would look so cute in a nursery.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend. How is the kitchen coming?

Oh I think that white shelf is amazing too. So lovely! And it has a lot of decorating possibilities for the holidays. It sounds like you've enjoyed it. Are you selling it or just moving it to a different room?

Linda,
Thank you so much for visiting and becoming a follower...right back at cha! I really adore this shabby shelf. Seems to me you should be able to find a place for it, even if you must paint it for another room, like a bath room! It's really too sweet to part with, me thinks!

Good morning Linda! Thanks for stopping by to visit me and for your sweet comments! I'm so jealous that you get to live on the coast. I LOVE the beach. We go to Florida nearly every summer - Panama City or Destin, so we go through your area. And I LOVE little beach cottages. How fun to decorate those! I have a Hayley, also! Your girls are so pretty. I'll be back so I can read more. Think I'll put you on my reading list, too, cuz I need to see more of your great bargains! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Vickie
