Day One...A New Me!

Today is day one for me...I went last night and joined WEIGHT WATCHERS! I have been trying to lose some weight on my own and it was just not working for this gal...I needed HELP and I'm hoping that this program will be my answer. Mr.CC and my sister also joined...the three of us are VERY determined to lose the weight for health reasons and of course...we want to look FABULOUS...now that will be a miracle! The three of us have been working out at our church gym and that has been sooooo incredible...I have really improved a lot since day one at the gym and I hope to keep improving. Mr.CC and I will celebrate our 25th anniversary (can't believe this man has put up with me for 25 years) in July and we are planning a 10-14 day trip to places that we have always wanted to see...more on that to follow. I know I will not be at the same weight (110 lbs.) as I was on our wedding day, but I do want to LOOK and FEEL wonderful for my SWEETIE! I'm very motivated to get my body in shape...not only for myself but also for my AWESOME family. I will be sure to keep you up on how it's going...wish me LUCK...I will sure need it:)

My SWEET sis made me a WEIGHT WATCHERS carrot cake for my birthday...not too bad:)

Not only did she make me a cake...she gave me this beau-ti-ful cake stand...it looks outstanding in my new kitchen...thanks sis!

Good luck with Weight Watchers...I think they're a great program. And what a sweet sister you have: a cake AND a cake plate!

Hope you get to go to NOLA for the parades. That would be a great post.

Best of Luck! I did WW after my first baby. I had put on 60 pounds - ick! I lost it all - fast & in a healthy way. If you pick the right foods you won't feel hungry! You can do it!

Oh this has been on my mind for a long time. A poorly functioning thyroid and adrenal gland are not my friends when it comes to losing weight but I'm determined to fit back into the lovely clothes I have in my closet this summer!

Keep us posted and we'll be there to support you should you be tempted to stray!

Loving that cake plate, what a great color! Good luck on your diet, sounds like you have a lot of motivation and a lot of support, including all your blogging buddies. I'm hoping that when I get moved I'll be more motivated to work out, right now I'm spending all my energy packing. But that should be burning lots of calories, don't you think?

Welcome to the WW's clan. I'm a lifetimer who needs to lose a bit more. I've even blogged about it. Check it out

I lost 64 lbs initially and it's by far the best way to go! I'm proud of you for wanting to make a change in your life. And Happy Birthday and congrats on your upcoming anniversary!

Good luck with the Weight Watchers. Several of my in-laws have done it. Exercise is so important, too. My hubby has been on a self imposed diet and exercise plan for several years now, and he has steadly lost weight. He did it mainly for health reasons, too.
25 years coming up!!! Good for you, girl! We went to Charleston for our 25th. I would love to go back. Can't wait to hear about the places you all are planning to visit.

Linda,

Best of luck on this journey. You should get yourself a pedometer and aim for 10,000 steps a day. The pounds will fall off of you. Happy belated birthday. What a sweet sister you have!

Ha! At first when I saw your post, I thought that was a king cake. :/ How sweet that your sister made you a WW cake for your birthday and gifted you with a beautiful cake stand to boot. Lovely! 5 years ago, I worked out with two friends, changed my eating completely, lost 30 lbs and have kept it off. I feel sooooooo much better for it. Remember, it is a lifestyle change and if you really want it, you can do it. Walking is free and the best exercie for everyone. I love, love, love walking and hiking. Okay, it's not so wonderful doing it in Kuwait, not much to look at -- but I still pound the pavement when I can. And when I get to the States, I totally enjoy the outdoors, nature trails, etc. Wishing you all the best. Tammy

Your enthusiasm for WW is contagious. If we weren't snowed in, I'd head for a meeting to sign up.

I'd like to suggest the most incredible site that will truly help you on your weight loss journey. It's amazing. Women of all ages supporting each other on their weight loss journey.

Incredible WW recipes, suggestions, support and the message boards are always busy.

The site is called Dotti's Weight Loss Zone... It's a huge site with tons and tons of information and the most friendly and supportive posters from all over the world.

Hi Linda!!!
I wish you the best of luck in your WW program!!! A 10-14 day trip with hubby and a 25 year anniversary is certainly motivation to join up and get fit!!!
I had to chuckle there for a minute though. I thought maybe you were coming to New Orleans for the parade. Then I read about you joining WW and thought...there is NO way you can come down to Louisiana and follow WW...NO WAY!!! ;)
I advise you that it is wise for you to stay in Alabama and away from the Mardi Gras King Cakes at this time. That is, unless WW has a good receipe! haha!!!
I so hope you meet your goal...I'm cheering you on girl!!!!
