Here we are, just one week away from Christmas, are you ready? I'm sure not, so I better get it going this last week. I will say, I really didn't want to have a party this week. With what has happened at the Sandy Hook school on Friday, a linky party, was far from what I want to do today. I am sure you are all just as heart broken as I am over this tragedy. As a mother of two young teachers, this has really hit home. Both of my daughters are just starting their teaching careers, and they both work with young children (K5-3rd grade). The young 27 year old teacher, that made sure that her students were hidden from the shooter, and died while saving them, oh my, these children are so blessed that she was there for them. Let's all continue praying for all the families that have lost loved ones. The lost of these twenty children, is by far, more than any of us can understand. I do know, that our God is with the families of these little ones, and will always be there for them. Also, we need to pray for all the people that were there at the school, they are all, forever changed. Thank you for coming by today, and now, let's see some wonderful features, from last weeks party.
Blessings,
Linda

Thank you for hosting - have a lovely week :-)
No matter how we may try, sense just cannot be made of the senseless deaths of those precious children and staff.
I cannot imagine the pain that these families are suffering. Prayer is all we have to offer, but what a powerful offering it is.
You are a most hospitable hostess!!!
Rhonda

Love the features! Thanks for hosting! Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Linda, Your insight and thoughtfulness re: last week's incident are duly noted. Our prayers and thoughts go out to the families of the innocent victims. Thank you for hosting in light of it all. We need some normalcy in these crazy times.
Our son's girlfriend is a public school teacher in a "not so good" district here in Dayton. She related that while there is a security guard on the premises, he does not holster a weapon. The grounds are not gated and visitors are buzzed in, sight unseen. On top of this are students who toss chairs at teachers in the classroom and have knock down, drag out fights with their classmates. These are 4th and 5th graders!!! I never saw this type of violence when I was growing up or working as a substitute teacher in the 80's. It is all a very scary situation that many educators are in these days.
Hi Linda; thank you for featuring my Joy Mantel this week. A sweet surprise.
And thank you for hosting this week as well.
And thank you for writing so clearly about the loss of the tragedy of the senseless loss of such little children and their teachers, principal and psychologist. A horror and great sadness. Prayers.

Sad...teaching has become a battleground for all of us. I cannot get the children and teacher out of my mind. I did not want to go to school yesterday. Did not want to send a sub to take my place, either.
I've tried linking up but my computer internet connection keeps throwing me out! I will keep on keepin' on!
Thanks for the party, have a Merry Christmas!
Thanks for hosting, Linda. I am a former elementary school teacher and I am heartbroken. Prayers to all those involved in this tragedy and to all our teachers/students.
