Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays No.42 and BIG NEWS!

First this week I will be sharing with you my BIG NEWS...my sweet daughter Haley got engaged Saturday afternoon out on the beach in front of our condo and this is one excited MOM! Haley and her fiance Cam have known each other since they were in the sixth grade...they met at our church and were both very active in the youth department. They spent years just being friends...that was until June 2006 when the both of them were living at the beach for the summer and the next thing we knew...it all changed and they started dating! At the end of the summer they both went back to college and the big problem was...they didn't attend the same college...even worse...they attended rival schools...Haley is an AUBURN gal and Cam is an ALABAMA guy...now that could be a huge problem, but not with these two...they handle it very well...they just try not to talk about Auburn/Alabama football too much because they are both HUGE fans of their teams and so are both families! They both have now graduated from college and have jobs in their fields, so they are all ready to spend the rest of their lives together as a married couple.  Mr.CC and I are so happy to have Cam join our family...this young man is a wonderful Christian with great values...he will make an awesome husband and father...that's all we could ask for. Cam talked to Mr.CC last Monday and so we both had a long six days to keep this a secret (believe me...that was one hard thing for me to pull off...but I did it), Haley was sooooo surprise...she had no idea and that's just how we all wanted it. Cam had his two sisters there on the beach all dressed in disguise and walking behind them, so they could get the proposal on video and some pics...job well done...Haley never saw them as they were hiding behind sand fences! Cam asked for our help to get her down to our condo...so we had to come up with a reason for her to go...yes we told a little white lie and soon after Cam asked the BIG question...her comment to him was...I can't believe that my parents have been lying to me all week! Next surprise for her was that both families were waiting for them at their favorite restaurant to celebrate with them...I don't think this poor girl could take anymore surprises. After all the celebrating that has been going on...it's now time to get to work and plan this WEDDING...I'm just so excited to share these upcoming months helping Haley plan her BIG DAY!

Now let's get on with this weeks NIFTY THRIFTY TUESDAYS party! I have a few Christmas items to share...whatcha you got to share? Don't forget that I'm having a PART TWO of my CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE this week on the 16th...hope to see ya there!

Thanks so much for coming by and sharing your THRIFTY goodies and ideas and I hope you have a fun time here visiting around and maybe even finding some new friends!
Y'all come back now,
 Linda
Cam was hoping for a beautiful sunset...oh well!

Just look at those BIG smiles!
Surprise Haley...yes...we were all in on it!
Such a cute couple...match made in heaven!
Mom just kept checking it out...it's just sooo PRETTY!
Our family...plus one...Mr.CC is so happy to have another man around!
I was so happy that my mom could be there to celebrate with all of us!

Now let's check out some NIFTY THRIFTY goodies! Found this cute kitchen
item at a wholesale store a few year ago...love shopping wholesale!
A new Christmas kitchen towel found at a garage sale last year!
Sharing one of my favorite Christmas wreaths...I've had it for years and only paid
                                                                     pennies for it!
Do you love the dollar section at Michael's? If so...check them out after the season
because they discount these items...found this "NOEL" ornament for
20 cents...yes...they had their dollar items
marked down to 5 for a DOLLAR!
My little vintage silver tinsel tree with ornaments from the dollar section at
                                                                         TARGET!

***Please everyone, follow these guidelines!****

1. Be sure to refer back to my blog so everyone can see who is participating today, include the NTT button in your post (copy and paste the html code under the button…the button is located on my sidebar). Please make sure that you have put my NTT button or my blog name with a link on your post. I have seen that some of you have forgot to do this…so this is just a sweet reminder.

2. This party is for sharing thrifty finds from garage sales, thrift stores, consignment shops, craigslist and even those awesome deals that you find at any retail store. Please do not link to an Etsy shop or something similar (I will delete the link...believe me...I don't like doing this).

3. Please go and visit the other participates and leave a comment about their treasures and thrifty ideas…this is what makes the PAR-TAY so much FUN and what a great way to meet new friends. I would love for you to add yourself as a follower if you haven't already and please let me know, I love to know when I have a new friend. I appreciate all your comments, they really make my day.

Good morning Linda, Congratulations on Haley's engagement. I loved reading the story of their romance. The effort to capture the big moment is awesome. Your photos clearly shows the happy event. You have a beautiful family.

Your Christmas pics are fun and pretty. You know I love a bargain. I love that sweet silver tree and the wreaths.

I was devastated to miss joining your party on the 9th. It slipped right by. I had the 14th in my head but that was today's meme. I am very happy to join you on the 16th.

Wishing you many happy months ahead, planning your darling daughter's wedding.
Warm hugs, Jeanne

Well I'm a new follower! I love your blog, am an avid thrift store shopper (I buy most everything second hand)... but my blog posts don't usually reflect any of those items since I'm usually showcasing my custom work - so I may not have the opportunity to join in your party any time soon (but if I decide to showcase some awesome item in one of my posts someday I certainly will join). But I'm going to CRASH your party and look at all the great entries anyway because I too LOVE to shop for thrifty finds ;)

If you have a chance, stop by my blog sometime too - and maybe follow me too? Have a great day!
