New Kitchen Curtains

Yes...I have been sewing up a storm here at Coastal Charm...I have finally found some fabric that I like for my kitchen curtains...got the fabric and off I went to sewing! My plans for the full length window was burlap panels with a band of the printed print at the bottom...but that didn't happen! Mr.CC went by on his way to work one day to pick up some more fabric and we found out that they were out...bad news was that they could not get anymore! I still need to make the curtain for the window that is located over the sink...maybe I will get around to that one after I finish planting all my flowers outside. I went to our local flea market on Saturday and went a little crazy buying new plants and trees...I think I will planting for a few days...it's one of my favorite hobbies!
I used my favorite rods...BAMBOO!
The bay windows were a little tricky trying to find some brackets that would work...our solution was found in the plumbing department. We bought these plastic brackets and painted them to match the wall color...not perfect, but they work!

I'm loving that fabric, it has many of my colors in it. I've been planting flowers this week too. As a matter of fact, they are calling me now. It's beautiful outside right now, I better get outside before the rain moves in.

Have fun planting, I'm envious, I picked up my potting soil yesterday but it's still too cold in our neck of the woods!

So funny! I just posted my new curtains too! I however, took the lazy approach. That's a great brown on the walls, and I like the bold print! Says Spring, Fun!

Ooh, what a vibrant pattern! Where can I find bamboo rods like those? That is such a neat idea!

Your fabric is really fun -- I like it! That's a bummer about not being able to get anymore of your fabric to add to the long panels. I would buy fun trims in two or three of the colors, maybe one of the trims could be a pom-pom fringe, and sew them to the leading edge of the long panels. That would tie it together, and keep the eye moving. That was a great solution for your brackets (it's going into my bag of tricks). What I usually advise for my clients is a hinged bracket with two female ends. The hinge allows any angle to be accommodated. The rods would be cut to size at installation so that it's perfect. You can order these brackets through any designer that sells draperies.

Linda I love that fabric. So cheery! You did a great job with the curtains and I think what you used to put them up is just right. Who would know that they were not made for that purpose. I would not have.
