Mr.CC's Farmhouse Table

Next month we will celebrate 14 years in our home...it's really hard to believe it's been that long. When you bought our house, we also bought a few pieces of furniture from the owners...but their farmhouse table was not for sale. Mr.CC tried to talk the owners into selling it to him, but his charm did not work this time. Their table was sooooo COOL and fit perfect in the space...so what was he to do? To answer that...he decided to do a DIY! He has a friend who's family has a lot of land out in the country and they had an old house with some awesome wood that they offered to him, and he quickly accepted. The wood was heart pine and fourteen inches wide...he was so in love with them. This was his first real DIY furniture project and I think he did an outstanding job with the table...fourteen years later and I'm still lovin' it. I could not imagine replacing it...it holds so many wonderful memories of our family...I know it's just a table, but it's so very SPECIAL to me!Love all the holes...this is what adds so much character to it!

Hi, Linda! That is really beautiful! He did such a nice job on the finish. My hubby has refinished some pieces, and made some bookcases for us, but no tables. I suspect when all the birdies leave the nest, we will be in the market for some new treasures. He's promised so much of his handiwork to the girls.

Hi Linda,
I love your long farm table. Enough room for everyone! One of my favorite things is a farm table I found in an old abandoned cabin. It's very rustic with mismatched paint and legs. My husband always asks if I'll ever refinish it. Silly husband!
