Board and Batten

                                                                      source

I have been drooling over board and batten for a few years now.
The problem I had was, I just couldn't decide which room in my home, would be the perfect place for it. The funny thing is, I never even thought about this room, my foyer. Yes, the foyer is the perfect room for this treatment, so we are headed in there asap to start all the work. If you have installed board and batten, and have any advice or tips to share, please help this ole gal out share with a comment at the end of this post.
                                                                  Blessings,
                                                                     Linda

This is what my foyer looks like now,
minus that piece of furniture, it has been

We have wallpaper to remove, a popcorn

Board and Batten will look great in your foyer. Popcorn ceiling removal isn't so bad if you hold a flat box lid beneath while you scrape. We used this method years ago (spray the area first with warm water and a tiny touch of Joy detergent) and it didn't take too long. Can't wait to see the changes!

We did our entry and if I were to do it again I would prime and paint the boards first, then put them up and then patch the nail holes. You can see it here: http://www.ithinkwecouldbefriends.com/2014/08/25/entryway-makeover/

It's going to be the perfect look for the foyer! Be careful...don't get splinters! Ouch. Make sure all the corners of the boards are well sanded. That's what happened to me when I did sort of this same thing...and your fingers will hurt after applying and smoothing that much caulk! But it's going to be fabulous and worth it!

We are remodeling a bathroom in our 1930's weekend house. B & B is the plan for the bathroom. Haven't started yet but am collecting info. The foyer will look great with your update plans!

Well, you make my day brighter! It seems like I’m not the only one that is in love with your Board and Battern. I have my it also in my hallway, though it’s a look vintage – yay! Definitely yours is beautiful!
