My Anthropologie Knock Off

I really like getting inspired by certain stores and one of these stores is Anthropologie. When I spotted their wool pom pom garland, I knew right away that I wanted it. Since, it was early December, I told Mr.CC to add it to my Christmas wish list and sure enough, come Christmas morning I opened a package with it inside.
Well, during the weeks leading up to Christmas, I decided to try and make my own garland. I had seen a tutorial on how to make them and when I saw how easy they were, I then knew I could make my own. To be honest, I like my own knock off garland better than the one from Anthropologie, so I returned the rather pricey one to the store. I had also seen a real pretty pom pom wreath, that my blog friend Doreen had made, so yes, I have also made a wreath. I still have some wool yarn left, so I think I will make a larger garland to use as a display item at my shop space.

I decided to display the garland
                                                         on my old rusty gate.

Soft wool pom pom garland + rusty star +rusty gate=
a charming "farmhouse" look in my home.

The wreath made it's way to my mantel
                                                        for a "Winter" look.

Added my vintage clocks for a different look
                                                             on the mantel.

I didn't care for the fuller wreath that
Anthropologie carries, so I made mine
                                                               like Doreen's.

I like how Doreen displayed her wreath
                                                  on this charming old door.

My blog friend Marian, is who shared a
tutorial on how to make these fun pom

                                                       Click check out
                                                               the tutorial.

Your pom pom garland and wreath are wonderful for winter decor. They look fantastic draped across the rusty gate and hung on the chippy door.

Pretty darn cute, Linda! I have such a bad habit of going shopping with the intent to buy but end up empty handed for the DIY reason! Send me to an Antiques store or a junk yard... that's a different story! Love your little poms!

I made the pom pom garland with my nieces on our annual Christmas craft day. We had so much fun with it! We ran out of yarn so my older niece had to go and buy some more yarn! I still have my two garlands hanging, one around a mirror in my entrance and one draped over my burlap curtain in the dining room. The burlap curtains have small pom poms on the edges, so the bigger pom pom garland looks really cute hanging over the top of them and falling down the sides. :)
I got the idea from Ms Mustard seed as well! :)
