The Top Five

There were lots of great links at last weeks party and these are the top five most viewed by y'all. Several of you seem to think if you aren't one of the first sixty or so linked up that you won't get many visits or a chance to be featured. The links really are visited all the way down. One of the top five most visited today was linked half way through the party. So, please don't worry about when you arrive at the party, because all the party goers get visits.
                                                Blessings,
                                                   Linda

A Jewel Of The South

Oh yes...Charleston, S.C. is a southern jewel!!! If you have ever been there, I am sure you would agree with me. This city is full of history, and a wonderful place to learn a lot about the South. Back in October, Mr.CC and I spent a couple of days there, it was his first visit and my second. Not only is this city full of history, the food here is out of this world GOOD!!!! We had heard wonderful reviews about Magnolia's, so we knew we had to eat there, and we were so glad, we did just that. Here are some facts about the area, that I thought you might find interesting.

Little Known Facts about Charleston, SC

1.) Charleston boasts the first public college, museum and playhouse in the United States.

2.) George Gershwin composed his well known opera Porgy and Bess while living on Folly Beach, South Carolina. Porgy and Bess are buried in the James Island Presbyterian Church graveyard.

3.) The first game of golf played in the United States took place in Charleston, South Carolina.

4.) North America's longest cable-stayed bridge spans the Charleston Harbor. The Arthur J. Ravenel Jr.
Bridge connects historic Charleston and Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

5.) The first shot to be fired in the Civil War was fired by Citadel Cadets stationed on Morris Island

Now, grab a cup of coffee or a glass of sweet tea, and take this Charleston tour with me.

                                Southern mansions line the streets.

The best way to see the city is going on

Now, here we are at Magnolia's. Fried chicken was a must, so
Mr.CC had it along with some other southern goodies.

                          I had their meatloaf...yum yum!!!
