Hyde Park

Last week while I was in Tampa for the Outback Bowl I found a wonderful historic neighborhood...Hyde Park...needless to say I fell in LOVE with it! It's located on the bay in South Tampa... the streets are lined with HUGE old oaks trees drooping with spanish moss and gorgeous palm trees. I really loved looking at all the different types of palm trees and tropical plants...tropical plants and HUGE old oaks drooping with spanish moss...it was screaming OLD FLORIDA! The homes were all soooo unique in style and size...I was truly in HEAVEN! I told the hubs that I had found the neighborhood of my dreams...I was ready to move right in! The area had "Father of the Bride" written all over it...I LOVE that movie and the HOUSE in it...the movie could have been filmed right here in HYDE PARK. We drove around for a couple of hours looking during the day and then came back at night to see how it looked with all the Christmas lights...boy I'm sure glad we did...it was BEAUTIFUL!!! My pics are not the best...I think I was way to busy taking it all in and soaking up the beauty...believe me it looks sooooo much better than my pics show. There was a quaint little shopping area that we went to...did some shopping and had our NEW YEARS EVE lunch at a wonderful upscale restaurant...I will do another post on this area next. Take a look for yourself...I don't think you will be disappointed.

Linda,
The pics are gorgeous! I can't believe how green the grass is and the flowers are blooming! Oh how I wish for spring! I would live in any of those houses if they would let me!

Beautiful! My sister lives in the Tampa area - I'll have to ask her about that neighborhood. I can see why you want to move right in!

When we lived in FL, I remember doing the same streets as you did....and taking some of the same pictures, too!! LOL
I know you guys are freezing down there. I just talked with have my old neighborhood in Venice, FL & they are suffering with it.
We're hoping to get down there for the month of Feb. (if DH's cardiologist okays it). I hope it has warmed up by then!!!!

I could have sworn I was one of your folowers, Linda but my face wasn't showing up so I re-clicked to follow you again. ♥ your blog!

Rett

Last year when my sil picked my up at the Tampa airport, he drove around the bay. I was just looking and looking at all the beautiful houses. I don't know if I saw the same section, but what I did see was impressive. I love those tree lined streets you showed us.

It is beautiful, isn't it. It's fun to see it through a visitor's eyes.
