I have also been very busy this past weekend getting my home all dressed up for the CHRISTMAS holidays....you know I'm hosting a CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE here at COASTAL CHARM on December 9 and so I can't be just half dressed when all my guests show up...you know what I mean? Today I'm sharing my THRIFTY mantel with all of you...the only things new here are my glass ornaments that I bought at Ikea last year at 50% off. I had a great time picking up some discounted items at the after Christmas sales last year and now I'm having even more fun pulling it all out and playing with it! Looking forward to seeing what THRIFTY items and ideas you have to share this week...soooooo let's get this party going...link her up and start visiting around and get inspired!
Hoping all of y'all have a fun time here at my party
and come back again next week!
Linda
I decided to keep my mantel simple this year...so a twig tree was just perfect for that look!
It's very simple, but I'm lovin' it!
I did think about adding more,
but I think this will be the
finial look.
P.S. I have changed my mind...I will be adding
something on each side of the tree...check
back later to find out what I do!!!!!
When I saw these glass striped trees at Ikea last year...I knew I had to have some.
I'm sorry to say, but I don't remember how much
I paid for them...I sure wish those guys at Ikea
would put price tags on their merchandise!
Momma and her baby!!!!
Garland that I have had for years...just added some berry balls
and twigs from my yard!
These white stockings were FREE...an owner of one of the antique shops
that I was located in, didn't want them any more...they were brand new...so
I said sure...I will be happy to take them off your hands.
I have always wanted to display wreaths on my plantation shutters
in the den...so this year...I did just that! I used some ribbon that I
already had on hand and added some red and lime green balls from
my stash!
If your liking the look...head right out to your own yard and
cut a branch...then get a container...some styrofoam...sand
(I used sand because I have plenty of it here on the coast)
and then add some ornaments...now you will have a
NIFTY THRIFTY CHRISTMAS TREE too!!!!
Still pondering where I will used the rest of these beauties...yes
I have more!!!
Grab my button...post it on your blog so all your friends can come by and join in on the fun!
1. Be sure to refer back to my blog so everyone can see who is participating today, include the NTT button in your post (copy and paste the html code under the button…the button is located on my sidebar). Please make sure that you have put my NTT button or my blog name with a link on your post. I have seen that some of you have forgot to do this…so this is just a sweet reminder.
2. This party is for sharing thrifty finds from garage sales, thrift stores, consignment shops, craigslist and even those awesome deals that you find at any retail store. Please do not link to an Etsy shop or something similar (I will delete the link...believe me...I don't like doing this).
3. Please go and visit the other participates and leave a comment about their treasures and thrifty ideas…this is what makes the PAR-TAY so much FUN and what a great way to meet new friends. I would love for you to add yourself as a follower if you haven't already and please let me know, I love to know when I have a new friend. I appreciate all your comments, they really make my day.
Come join me at these fun parties!

ReplyDeleteI may be coming to your party half dressed!!! We got everything up outdoors over the weekend and I just finished the main tree, Al got his Auburn tree up yesterday and Alex has a live tree in Blue Creek Basement. I still have the foyer, the mantle, and Caro's room to go! It's a good thing that I enjoy doing it!

ReplyDeleteYour whole mantle is lovely, and I am swooning over the FREE stockings!
I love your twig tree! Since I packed up all my belongings and put them in storage a month ago, I just may wander outside and see if I can find a good twig and I know there's plenty of sand. No ornaments, but I do have a bunch of shells I found on Sanibel Island a few weeks ago. I need to do something so I can join in on your party, lol.
ReplyDeleteOkay, you've inspired me! Thanks.
I really like your mantel decorations. My bargain is from last year's after Christmas sales also.
ReplyDeleteAlmost did not make it today. Thanks for hosting again this week.

Hi Linda, I tried to comment yesterday and for some reason the comment section did not come up. Any way I had a busy day yesterday and didn't have time on my computer to visit. I am trying to see all the fun posts today.
ReplyDeleteI adore your twig tree and would love to take the idea and use it. So pretty and clever too. Your mantel looks great. You always share the best things and I enjoy this meme so much. Thank you for hosting.

Posted my Tropical angels project and now off to hop around for holiday ideas.
ReplyDeleteLove that you used the twigs and natural elements. I used them in my tree for the first time ever (stole the idea from some creative blogger) and I just love it. I think it's the best my tree has ever looked. I added pinecones in the tree too. Can't wait to join your party on the 9th. Thanks for inviting me.
ReplyDeleteDarn! Missed the party - But LOVED seeing your decor! Faves are the wreath hung on your plantation shutters this year and simply adding berries to your existing garland for an update! beautiful!
