Welcome to COBALT RESTAURANT located in Orange Beach, Alabama...this is one of my favorite places to dine out at, so I thought I would share some SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY and share it with you. If you are ever in our area, stop in and try it out for yourself...I don't think you will be disappointed. Colbalt serves some wonderful gulf coast seafood, but they also serve steaks, pasta and pizza's...these are also delicious. The food is not the only thing I love about this place...the atmosphere is outstanding...my favorite is eating outside and listening to one of our local bands, while at the same time enjoying the awesome water views!
For only $9 you get...an oyster poboy and one side...can you guess what my side dish is?

If your guess was mashed potatoes...you are soooo WRONG!! Can you say GRITS?
Yes...these are the best white cheddar poblano grits that this old SOUTHERN
GAL has ever had and believe me...she has had plenty!
Not only is the food out of this world good...the view is to die for!
Linda, that is my idea of the perfect meal. Please tell me you had a nice glass of white wine with it? haha

ReplyDeleteI want to come, I want to come. Oh my gosh, does this plate ever look scrumptous. Cheddar flavored grits, oh my gosh, you had me right there. I am not a big fan of oysters, but the grits yep, you had me right there.
And the view, who could resist that alone? Absolutely breathtaking. There is just something about eating outside and listening to a great band play. Everything tastes SO much better.

I really cant get past the seafood pizza with a saffron crust. But... that po-boy looks awesome.

I love fried oysters and that sandwich looks delicious! Road trip!!!!! I'll be right down. Those grits look pretty amazing too. Maybe someday I can get down that way and check this place out. Thanks for sharing. Love & blessings from NC!

Oyter Po' Boy is one of my all time FAVORITE treats!! We lived in Mobile my sophmore year of high school (71-72). LOVED it there. My mom grew up in Trussville, just outside of Birmingham and one of my brothers was born in Birmingham. Alabama is a favorite, too! I've been a follower for awhile. Love your blog.

That looks delicious. That sunset is amazing. I visited Florida last month and the sunset over the water was breathtaking. Any picture with a plam tree in it is gorgeous in my eyes. Happy Wednesday! La

What a wonderful looking restaurant! I love Gulf Coast seafood. I am heading to Naples, Fl this month and my first stop will be at Riverwalk Restaurant to have the FRESHEST, CRISPIEST Fried Gulf Shrimp. I can't wait!

Those grits look awesome (says the Yankee girl living in VA who was raised with a Southern PopPop!). Now I'm thinking I should make some soon. We head to TN for family reunions. Wonder if we could just 'swing by' orange Beach, Alabama?

Hi Linda! Oh, this looks yummy! I was born in Fort Payne, Alabama and lived there until I was 13. So I'm a southern gal too and at our house growing up if you couldn't bread it and fry it you didn't eat it! :)

That food looks delicious. I've never had fried oysters, but I discovered grits when I worked at Walt Disney World, and they are now one of my favorites.
