Cobalt's...A Gulf Coast Favorite

Welcome to COBALT RESTAURANT located in Orange Beach, Alabama...this is one of my favorite  places to dine out at, so I thought I would share some SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY and share it with you. If you are ever in our area, stop in and try it out for yourself...I don't think you will be disappointed. Colbalt serves some wonderful gulf coast seafood, but they also serve steaks, pasta and pizza's...these are also delicious. The food is not the only thing I love about this place...the atmosphere is favorite is eating outside and listening to one of our local bands, while at the same time enjoying the awesome water views!

For only $9 you oyster poboy and one side...can you guess what my side dish is?

Gulf Coast Oysters...just the way I like them!!!!
If your guess was mashed are soooo WRONG!! Can you say GRITS?
Yes...these are the best white cheddar poblano grits that this old SOUTHERN
GAL has ever had and believe me...she has had plenty!

Not only is the food out of this world good...the view is to die for!

  1. Linda, that is my idea of the perfect meal. Please tell me you had a nice glass of white wine with it? haha

  2. Oh Linda Sweetie...
I want to come, I want to come. Oh my gosh, does this plate ever look scrumptous. Cheddar flavored grits, oh my gosh, you had me right there. I am not a big fan of oysters, but the grits yep, you had me right there.

And the view, who could resist that alone? Absolutely breathtaking. There is just something about eating outside and listening to a great band play. Everything tastes SO much better.

This has been great tonight. Thank you SO much for letting me tag along sweet friend. Many hugs and SO much love, Sherry

  3. Mmmm, I love Po Boy sandwiches! And those grits look amazing!

  4. Absolutely... this is our Favorite!
In fact... they are catering the 'big day' for us in April.
I really cant get past the seafood pizza with a saffron crust. But... that po-boy looks awesome.
Did you wash your hands in the bathroom???

  5. I love fried oysters and that sandwich looks delicious! Road trip!!!!! I'll be right down. Those grits look pretty amazing too. Maybe someday I can get down that way and check this place out. Thanks for sharing. Love & blessings from NC!

  6. Mmm... looks delicious, and what a beautiful view!

  7. Yum! I am looking at this @ 10:20 p.m. Not I'm hungry :)

What a beautiful way to spend the evening! *sigh*

  8. You are making my mouth water at 12:45 a.m.
I won't start nibbling since I have already brushed my teeth, but I would rebrush for a bite of those grits and call it breakfast!

  9. Oyter Po' Boy is one of my all time FAVORITE treats!! We lived in Mobile my sophmore year of high school (71-72). LOVED it there. My mom grew up in Trussville, just outside of Birmingham and one of my brothers was born in Birmingham. Alabama is a favorite, too! I've been a follower for awhile. Love your blog.

  10. We'll have to try Cobalt's next time we're down your way. Tell me what it's close to. And oh, lest I forget, WAR EAGLE - HEY!

  11. That looks delicious. That sunset is amazing. I visited Florida last month and the sunset over the water was breathtaking. Any picture with a plam tree in it is gorgeous in my eyes. Happy Wednesday! La

  12. Good food and a great view! Can't beat that. I'd love to visit that place.

  13. Hi Linda
How have you been? I so miss getting around but things will slow down after this show, thank goodness
    That view is just awesome!
Hope all is good in your world, it looks like it is

  14. What a wonderful looking restaurant! I love Gulf Coast seafood. I am heading to Naples, Fl this month and my first stop will be at Riverwalk Restaurant to have the FRESHEST, CRISPIEST Fried Gulf Shrimp. I can't wait!

  15. You're holding out on us! Where's it at? Is that the bridge at the pass?

  16. Yes...that's the bridge at the pass...the restaurant is located next the Caribe condos.

  17. Those grits look awesome (says the Yankee girl living in VA who was raised with a Southern PopPop!). Now I'm thinking I should make some soon. We head to TN for family reunions. Wonder if we could just 'swing by' orange Beach, Alabama?

  18. Mmmm...I think I gained a few pounds just looking at the delicious dish!! You are right the view is spectacular!

  19. One word....HOMESICK! OMG, that oyster po-boy looks awesome!!! Love, love, love the view :) We're spending Tkgiving in MS and Atlanta so I'm going to have my share of great southern food and great southern scenery (and, of course, great southern hospitality/family).

  20. Wishing I was there having dinner with you. ;) Looks divine and the view is one I'd love to have right about now. It's been a long year, and I'm yearning for the beach, wether it be Mexico or Florida. lol
Thanks for your kind comments and recent visit to my blog, and also for the referral you mentioned. This is my last show for the season, and than hoping I have some time to do some blogging, reading others blogs, doing some customs and preparing for some large events again in 2011.
Enjoy the beauty of where you lucky!

  21. The grits look delicious and oooh the view!

  22. Oh, that looks so YUMMY!! No I am drooling on the keyboard!!

  23. Hi Linda! First, that looks soo good, and I love the shots! Second, thanks for following along, I have always seen your pic, but don't know why it took me so long to come over! I am now your newest follower!

  24. This is my kind of good. An oyster po-boy for $9? Wow. And then you mentioned grits. OMG For an old southern gal, it can't get any better than this. Guess we'll just have to drop by Orange Beach sometime soon.

  25. Hi Linda! Oh, this looks yummy! I was born in Fort Payne, Alabama and lived there until I was 13. So I'm a southern gal too and at our house growing up if you couldn't bread it and fry it you didn't eat it! :)
Thanks for popping in to see me.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  26. That food looks delicious. I've never had fried oysters, but I discovered grits when I worked at Walt Disney World, and they are now one of my favorites.

  27. That looks delicious, and the view is incredible.

I'm all ears...
