Vintage Christmas Mondays

I'm joining Joan over at Anything Goes Here for Vintage Christmas Mondays...please go by and visit Joan and all her friends for some awesome VINTAGE CHRISTMAS goodies!

My Christmas tree in the kitchen is my VINTAGE tree...love using the ornaments from my hubby's childhood...I think he loves it too! His family had some beautiful ornaments that were passed on to him after his parents passed away 23 years ago. I didn't use them for a few years...I was to young to appreciate them...as I got older I realized how pretty and special they are. I sold antiques for about six years and when I had my business I would buy VINTAGE ornaments to sell...sometimes they never made it to the shop...yes...I kept them for myself...so some of the ornaments on the tree are ones I purchased...I hope that my daughters will want them one day. I have other beautiful VINTAGE CHRISTMAS goodies...so check back next week to see for yourself!

Here it is...my VINTAGE CHRISTMAS TREE...please excuse the trashcan and the bare window! I'm still working on my kitchen remodel and window treatments will not happen until after the holidays.

Beautiful "MERRY CHRISTMAS" ornament.

My fav..."SANTA"...I'm one lucky girl...I have two of these ornaments!

What an awesome "Wise Men" ornament...sorry that the pic isn't that great!

My "bubble lights"...what a FUN look they have...and great memories!
Here is my other "Santa" ornament...I'm having fun this year hanging ornaments on my lamps...I'm lovin how they look!

  1. Hey Linda, these are great. Love those bubble lights, they used to keep me sitting by the tree for hours when I was a kid. I think my favorite is the wise men. They are all so pretty!

  2. I remember bubble lights on the trees my parents had when I was young. I was fascinated by the movement inside the lights. I, too, have many vintage ornaments and I will include them in the Mondays to come.
Thanks so much for sharing with all of us.

  4. I love your vintage tree. I'm glad your husband held onto them and that you have now developed an appreciation for their beauty.
I'm the same way. Seems as though the older I get that I am starting to like the vintage Christmas decor. Wonder why that happens?
Oh well, have a wonderful week.

  5. I'm jealous of all those fabulous vintage ornaments. I'm with you....I love the two with Santa on them. Your tree looks beautiful. I'm always on the lookout now for vintage ornaments. I found a box of green Shiny Brites at a thrift store last week for $3.00. You would have thought I won the lottery I was so happy!
    Have a great week.

  8. Linda -- Love looking at your vintage ornaments! I just put up a little tree in the kitchen last night with all the ornaments from my childhood. Most of them were painted by my sweet Nana, so they are extra special to me. Thanks for sharing yours!

  10. I have some of those, too! I have my parent's old ornaments, and just love getting them out each year. I remember those bubble lights, and they were a favorite. Unfortunately, I didn't find those in my parents' boxes. I have such fond memories of them.

  12. I love your vintage ornament tree. I have several of my grandmother's vintage ornaments, but I'm too scared to hang them on the tree.

  13. I have a new appreciation for vintage ornaments now too....I guess it comes with age. I hope my daughter comes to appreciate them sooner in her life than I did. And now I am obsessed with them. So charming! I love that you have so many from when your husband was young. Very nice!

  16. Still making my way around today ~ wow the list of partier's has grown! Bubble lights! They add such life to a tree don't they? It seems you are drawn to Shiny Brite ornaments, those that are stenciled! I like the idea of hanging them from your lamps too, very creative. Thanks for sharing your treasures and enjoy your new kitchen!!!! Judi
