First things first, I would like to thank all of you, that have been praying for all of us, that were in Isaac's path. Here, on the Alabama gulf coast, we were very lucky (this time), only minor damage from this guy. While I was at my beachfront condo today, I took a few pics from my balcony to share with all of you. I did step out on the beach (what is left of it), but didn't want to take a chance of getting sand in my camera, so, balcony pics, will have to do. While, standing in the strong wind on the beach, Mr.CC and I, should have taken some pics of us, mocking Jim Cantore from the Weather Channel. I don't now about you, but I think this guy, really needs to calm down while reporting storms. Yesterday, he really put on a show in New Orleans (always keeps us in stitches). Okay, I'm sure he's a nice guy:) Hope you all have a fun Labor Day weekend, with your family and friends. We have big plans here, more on that later.
Blessings,
Linda
As you can see, the water came up really close,
but time will take care of that, and we will have
most of our beautiful beaches back in a few days.
Lucky us, that the surf only came up to
the sand dunes. Some people were not
this lucky, so, please keep all of them in
your prayers.
So happy that our pool was untouched:)
Our flagpole came down, lost some sand fence, whew,
so very minor!!!

oh my gosh, yes, you hit the nail on the head about cantore! i got to know him well when we were in slidell for katrina (we evacuated, but our house was there).... he always makes a bigger deal out of things and is way too dramatic!
ReplyDeleteso glad you guys are all safe! i am also glad to see so many friends are getting power back in slidell... hope all is well and safe soon.
Thank God you and your family are doing fine.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness all is well your way. Cantore is dramatic!

Donna
I'm so glad you were spared the brunt! XO, Aimee
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful that everything is well there. We were thinking of you guys.
ReplyDeleteAl was talking today about Cantore - one of the AU boards he frequents had a youtube of Cantore hanging on to a sign post for dear life while a couple strolled into the picture from behind - having no trouble standing upright!!! Funny stuff
And...I won something!!!! Thanks so much. I think I will try to secretly send a photo of Mason for this and let it be his Christmas present to his mommy!
I am super exited!
Rhonda
Blessings and thanks to God for sparing your lovely little coastal town from Hurricane Isaac. I'm so glad you didn't receive any major damage to your home.
ReplyDeleteHaving lived through Hurricane Ewa in Hawaii many years ago...I know it doesn't hurt to be prepared. But, oh, Mr. Cantore does really get wound up! Bless his heart...He means well.
Congratulations to the lucky winners of your giveaways.
Thanks for letting us know how you are after the storm, my friend,
Fair weather and following seas,
Carolynn
It's so good to hear that you weren't exposed to the flooding I've been hearing is happening down there! What a nightmare!
ReplyDeleteLinda, I have prayed for all of you. My son is in New Orleans and I have talked to him. It depends on what part you live in about the damage. He is o.k., no flooding, but down power lines. It has been very stressful for me along with my hubby's health issues. Just hearing a voice does makes you feel so much better. Happy for you that you were lucky. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteLinda, so glad to hear that all is well with you after the storm. I had never seen Jim Cantore without his parka on, but he needs to take it off more often. He is really buff, and I had never noticed before! Hehe!
ReplyDeleteso glad all is well
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of you, and all those in the path. I'm so happy there wasn't major damage. Enjoy your long weekend.
ReplyDeleteGlad you all are in good shape down there, we're feeling a little Issac today up on Missouri. We've been in such a bad drought we are loving this good rain! I guess it takes some drama to make the weather interesting, but I was worried about Al Roker. He's not a spring chicken and sort of a lightweight compared to Cantore. I was hoping he wouldn't fly away!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you were unscathed by the storm...now , you can enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteGreat news on you being fine! Enjoy your long weekend. ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jesus! I am glad y'all were unscathed by the wrath of Issac. We fared well too just lots of debris such as leaves and sticks. Check out Uptown Acorn for pics of the yard. xo
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're okay, Linda. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to hear that you didn't get a lot of damage at your condo. Hopefully you can take a deep breath and enjoy the holiday weekend now. Thanks for sharing your pictures.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about all of my blogging buddies, so glad all is well with you!
ReplyDeleteCarol

ReplyDeleteSo happy you are A-ok!! I haven't lived through hurricanes, but I can only imagine. Thank you again for hosting my first give away. I have contacted Betsy and look forward to following both of you for inspiration and just plain fun!!
ReplyDeleteWarm wishes,
Karen Eileen
I am so thankful that you got no major damage! I have been watching those who have flood waters to their roofs and it makes me so sad! We were also fortunate in the Panhandle of Florida.
ReplyDeleteI can't tell you how surprised I was to win the 8 x 10 canvass! AND excited! Thanks for the opportunity!
So glad that the storm did not do a lot of damage to your home or those around you. Such a blessing.
