I'm still here, but just a tad bit late for my own party. We had to make a trip down to our beach condo today, furniture had to be moved in from the balcony, so Isaac, didn't take it with him. It was not your typical summer day there, visitors were told to leave, so that just left us, the locals, to get our homes ready for the storm. We are very lucky this time, looks like we will not get the direct hit. Now, don't get me wrong, we will have lots of rain, wind, and this thing that we hate...storm surge!! Hopefully, it won't be to bad, only time will tell. I thought, I would share some pre-storm pics of our little piece of paradise with y'all today. It's not really NIFTY THRIFTY, but I thought, I would be a little different this week, hope you don't mind. Please keep all of us here in Isaac's path, in your prayers.
Blessings,
Linda
A typical beach house, that is all ready for our unwelcome visitor.
Looking out from our balcony.
Some people are just plain stupid! Get out of the water dude!
Some owners use plywood, to protect their windows.
While others, have storm shutters.
When we return on Thursday, I'm sure that the water will
be all the way up to the sea oats. Well, I pray, that it only
comes up that far. After hurricane Ivan, I could walk on top
of our beach front pool (it was filled with sand), and believe
me, I don't want to ever to do that again!
If you have not entered the two GIVEAWAYS that I have going on, there is still time. They both will end on Thursday, so be sure, not to miss out, and enter today.

Hoping you and everyone in the storm's way will remain safe from harm. I have a place at the beach (though not oceanfront), and I always wonder if I have taken enough of my favorite belongings out of it when a storm approaches. I met a lady whose primary residence was an hour inland when Katrina hit, and it was destroyed, so that's always in the back of my mind as I prepare. Best of luck to you and all the rest of those in harm's way!
ReplyDeleteMy prayers are with you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the party!

ReplyDeleteHi Linda, Thanks for hosting! Even though you aren't getting a direct hit that east side of the storm is tough also. Unfortunately for us we are in the direct path! Hopefully by the time it gets to us it will weaken. We are about 200 miles north of New Orleans and about 30 miles from the Miss River. They say it's following the river inland. Stay safe!.....Blessings, Tammy
