My goodness...where do I begin today? I have soooooo much to share with all of y'all from our 10 day vacation...just arrived home last night and this old gal is worn out to say the least! We left home on the 14th and that day was spent THRIFTIN' in Prattville, AL...thanks to my friend Judy from GRACIOUS SOUTHERN LIVING...I was able to find a few treasures at three local flea markets there in her neck of the woods. On the 15th...we spent the day tailgating and watching the AUBURN vs. Florida game with family and friends...AWESOME day we had and it was even better, because we WON!!!! Headed over to Atlanta on Sunday to watch Cam play and with this being my first NFL game...I can say...it's sooooo different from college football...still lovin' college football the BEST!!! Monday we headed up to Asheville, N.C....had lunch in a cute little mountain town in north Georgia...wonderful food and a perfect weather day to eat outside! The next few days were spent in the Asheville area...driving the BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY...thriftin'...eating...enjoying the wonderful fall weather and beautiful waterfalls. The next stop was in Nashville (well we were staying in Franklin...a charming little town just south of Nashville...more on this area later). While we were in Franklin...we spent Friday at the NASHVILLE FLEA MARKET...nice show...not so big, but plenty of treasures to be found. Mr.CC was so happy that I got tired around 3:00 pm and was ready to call it a day...this was after he had made several trips to the car with all my THRIFTY treasures...what a keeper he is!!! Saturday was spent hitting a few garage sales that were located right behind our hotel (got some really good deals there) and then I headed out to the countryside to a BARN SALE...now that's where I found a couple of my favorite finds. The afternoon was spent shopping the downtown shops in quaint little Franklin. Left Franklin on Sunday morning to head home. I bet all of you think that my shopping was all over...wrong...I just had to stop at the new store in Birmingham that I have been seeing some of you talking about...it's the CHRISTMAS TREE SHOPS. It was okay...lots of it was what I call CHEAP looking stuff, but some of it was not...you just need to look really hard and you can find some deals on some "cool" stuff...I sure did! Today I thought I would share with y'all just one of my treasures...now it's a goodie...I almost did a happy dance right there in the shop...Mr.CC was so happy that I didn't!!! I have soooo much to share with y'all at a later time...so please be sure to keep checking in with me for the next few weeks, because it's going to take that long to post about all my treasures. Now it's time to see treasure #1 and all the treasures...thrifty projects and ideas that y'all have to share here at this weeks party...so let's get this party rolling!!!
Thanks for coming,
Linda
Do you think I could get another
thing in there?
Oh let's see what you can find here!!!
I spy a....
One of my favorites...is found here...any
guesses on what it is?
So happy that I sent home some of the
tailgate items with Haley...other stuff
was left with Mary Claire back in Auburn!
Even sent home the items that I
found in Prattville...thanks Haley
for helping your mom out...I so
needed that space for more stuff!
Yes...I found a DEMIJOHN...finally!!!
Isn't she a beauty?
Anybody want to take a guess
on how much she cost me?
Today she is nesting here next to my
thrifty tote...you can read more
about it here!
Now you know that
I got a deal...right?
Well is $26.96 a deal to you? It was to me!!
The regular price was $65 and she had been
reduced to $29.95 and then I got 10% off
for paying cash for her...oh happy day!!!
I'm not sure if she will stay
here very long, but I can
say...I will not be moving
her anywhere new for a few
days...gotta get some much
needed rest!!
I'm linking up here...

ReplyDeleteI spied a tobacco basket. They have really good prices on those in Asheville. They are high here. I would have gotten on if I could figure out where to put one. Great deal on the demijohn. I adore Franklin and lucky you to get to stay there. I have to stay with my son and family in Nashville and have only been to Franklin a few hours at a time. I wish I had a couple of days. Can't wait to see the rest of your loot. Does you son play for the Falcons?

ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun vacation, especially returning with all those thrify finds in tow! Great price on the demijohn. Mine was $39 along with a great lesson on the color and how it relates to age, etc., etc. I have used it in decorating my Fall mantel.
ReplyDeleteThanks for always being a gracious hostess!
I'm so glad you enjoyed your thrifting time in Prattville...looks like I need to do a little shopping there again soon! Your trip sounds like ours from the last 2 years of doing exactly what you did....we didn't go this year but I'm hoping to go again next fall.
ReplyDeleteMan, how awful was that game Saturday? I don't want anyone to take offense, but I hate LSU! I'm not a Bama fan but I hope they tear them up in 2 weeks!
I got one of my demijohns from my mom's house when we cleaned it out 2 years ago and then I won one from Sherry at No Minimalist Here for one of her giveaways. I'm always looking for more to add to my "collection" but I'm not going to pay much....yours was a steal!
I'm heading to south Alabama this weekend for some time with my best friend....I can't wait.
Judy
