With all the rain we had this weekend, there was no way that I was going thriftin...this old gal just doesn't like getting wet...she's so SWEET...she just might melt (ha ha). I thought this week I would answer some questions that I get about thriftin...hope this will be helpful to some of you out there that are new to this side of shopping. I also thought since I'm celebrating my one year blog anniversary this week, that I would share some oldies but goodies from the past...I know that some of you have seen these...so if that's the case...just keep on moving on and for you new gals...take a look at these NIFTY THRIFTY TREASURES!!! Thanks for coming and please come again!
Question~Do I always need to buy something at every sale?
Answer~Sellers don’t {shouldn't} get their feelings hurt if there’s nothing you need that they are selling. You don’t owe it to them to stand around for at least 10 minutes loitering and acting like you might buy something. Your time is limited, get in, give it a good look and get out if you don’t see anything. A quick “thank you” is always nice. Always remember, that every minute you spend taking your sweet time is a minute someone else somewhere is buying exactly what you are looking for at a killer price.
Question~How Do I Find Good Stuff?
Answer~Be willing to go to lots of sales and see lots of junk. I only buy something at 20% of the sales I go to. You have to be the kind of person who’s committed to spend the morning finding mostly nothing in order to be rewarded with one amazing find. Some days are better than others and I come home with a boatload of treasures from maybe as many as 75% of the sales that I went to...you just keep on going and you learn as you go!
Question~When Is The Best Time Of The Year To Hit The Sales?
Answer~The best times are Fall and Spring...the weather is much better during these seasons and more people are having sales. Neighborhood sales are awesome...you can park your car and hit several within a few minutes. Most neighborhoods hold their sales during the Fall and Spring...so keep this in mind.
We found enough TRAVERTINE TUMBLED TILES for our kitchen backsplash...for pennies! Five boxes for...$25.00!!!! Yes...I did a little happy dance right there at the sale!

****Please everyone, follow these guidelines!****
1. Be sure to refer back to my blog so everyone can see who is participating today, include the NTT button in your post (copy and paste the html code under the button…the button is located on my sidebar). Please make sure that you have put my NTT button or my blog name with a link on your post. I have seen that some of you have forgot to do this…so this is just a sweet reminder.
2. This party is for sharing thrifty finds from garage sales, thrift stores, consignment shops, craigslist and even those awesome deals that you find at any retail store. Please do not link to an Etsy shop or something similar (I will delete the link). If I see that your post is not really on track with the NTT theme and also if you don't link back, I'll delete your link...please don't make me do this. It's common courtesy to link back to the person having the party, so that all of your readers can find it too.
3. Please go and visit the other participates and leave a comment about their treasures and thrifty ideas…this is what makes the PAR-TAY so much FUN and what a great way to meet new friends.
I'm linking to the following parties...come along with me for a boatload of FUN!
