It's NIFTY THRIFTY time again...hope all of you have some awesome treasures to share with all of us here at COASTAL CHARM! First this week...I would like to say thanks to all of you who have been coming to my party...I started this THRIFTY party back in March and I never dreamed that it would take off like it has...you gals have really surprised me. I have made so many new and dear friends here at NTT...so let me tell you about one of them...her name is Jennifer. The name of her blog is ALL THAT GLITTERS...hop over and meet her and you will have a wonderful new friend too. Jennifer has been coming to NTT for some time now and she always has the "coolest" treasures that she finds for just pennies...she is for sure...one NIFTY THRIFTY GAL! One week she found a brand new monogram flag with a "S" on it and bought it because it was only 50 cents...that's correct...50 cents...you see this is not her initial, but she just couldn't pass up such a great deal. I was joking around with her and told her that "S" was my initial and next thing I knew...this SWEET GAL was mailing this flag to me! The last two months have not been good for my family...lots and lots of illness and then Mr.CC got robbed...so a gift from a friend in blogland just made my day. Please be sure to go by and visit Jennifer...you will love her and her FUN blog...now be sure to tell her that Linda said HELLO!
Found these while out thriftin' a few weeks ago...do you know where I can get some cute labels for them?

Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays No.21
Hello everyone...it's NIFTY THRIFTY TUESDAYS time again and I can say that things are much better here at COASTAL CHARM this week! WOW...this blogging world is full of some sweet and caring folks...the comments that all of you sent out to us last week were so wonderful...they meant the world to the both of us and I would like to thank all of you at this time for praying for us during this time...THANK YOU and GOD BLESS YOU! I'm so happy and thankful that I still have Mr.CC in my life...he is one AWESOME husband and father. On July 27 we will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary...I just can't believe how fast the years have gone by...each and every one of them have been so wonderful! The day before Mr.CC was robbed at gunpoint, we had the opportunity to go the FREE Jimmy Buffett concert in GULF SHORES...wow...it was one outstanding show! The gates opened at 3:00 and at 2:00 we were offered two tickets from a co-worker...timing could have been a little better, but what the heck...we had tickets and off we went!!!! The concert was just a little over a mile from our condo, so we got there in plenty of time to find a great spot for the two of us. The concert was soooooo much FUN...Jimmy did an outstanding job entertaining all 35,000 of us there on the BEACH!!! As a local here on the Alabama gulf coast...this concert meant more than just music...it was all of us (including Jimmy) coming together on our shores to have a few hours of FUN! THANK YOU JIMMY for this FREE concert...it was one NIFTY THRIFTY show!!!!
The love of my life...Mr.CC!
We were both just a little HOT here waiting for the concert to start, but it was so worth it!
Jimmy doing his thing!
Gov. Bob Riley was there near us giving away hats promoting our great state!

Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays No.20
Hello everyone! I'm so sorry that I'm late with the party this week, but today has not been a good one for my family...Mr.CC was robbed at gunpoint late this afternoon while showing a home...he is a real estate broker here on the gulf coast. The best news is he is OKAY and ALIVE...Thank You Lord! Him and his client (male) were standing in the driveway in the daylight when two young guys approached them...both with guns...stole their wallets...keys...my car...Mr.CC's computer and briefcase. I had a party planned for today, but at this time I don't feel I can go on with the party...I hope you all understand and will come back next week with all your NIFTY THRIFTY TREASURES!

The holiday has come and gone...I hope all of you had an awesome time with family and friends...I sure did! My family spent the holiday at our beach condo here in beautiful Gulf Shores, Alabama. Last week was not a good week for us here on the coast...we had lots and lots of BP oil washing up and very high surf from Alex. There is light at the end of the tunnel...our beaches were cleaned up by Saturday morning and the sun was shinning bright for the weekend...had two beautiful fireworks shows...one Saturday night in Orange Beach and another one Sunday night here in Gulf Shores. This years celebration was one that we will never forget here on the Alabama Gulf Coast.

Jammin' With Jimmy!
When things don't look good for your hometown...when oil is washing up on your childhood beaches...when your sister's business is hurting...what do you do? Well...tonight here in Gulf Shores, Alabama...JIMMY BUFFETT decided to do a SURPRISE FREE two hour concert at his sister's restaurant...LuLu's! WOW...what an awesome treat for all our loyal tourist that have come to our beautiful ALABAMA beaches... even when we have oil washing up daily...this has not been a good week here...we have really been hit hard. I'm sorry that I didn't make it to LuLu's to see Jimmy, but I would rather have all the wonderful people who have not given up on us and are here spending their vacation with us...they are the ones that deserve this awesome treat! Here is the article and some pics that were reported in our local newspaper (Mobile Register).
GULF SHORES, Ala. -- At about 6:30 p.m. Lucy Buffett delivered some bad news: Bluesman Sonny Landreth, who was supposed to play at her waterfront restaurant, Lulu's at Homeport Marina, had had to cancel his scheduled show. But, working a family connection, she had procured a substitute performer: her brother and south Alabama favorite son Jimmy Buffett.
Buffet and his seven-piece Coral Reefer Band then launched into a two-hour set before a very stoked crowd that grew through word of mouth to well over 2,000.
Though he played unannounced in 2000 at his mother's birthday party at the old Lulu's on Weeks Bay, tonight was his first performance at his sister's much larger location in Gulf Shores. And for the occasion he rolled out much of his classic material, including hits "Margaritaville," "Volcano," and "Cheeseburger in Paradise."
Imagine the surprise of diners like Amy Brown, who had arrived with her husband in Gulf Shores on Friday, prompted by the promise of a Buffett concert that had been scheduled for tomorrow night at the city's public beach. Surfside weather associated with Hurricane Alex forced that show to be rescheduled for July 11, and the Elizabethtown, Ky. couple was disappointed they wouldn't be able to make it back to the beach next weekend, she said.
"We were very upset," Brown said. "We came here for dinner tonight and this surprised us."
From the stage, Buffett thanked those like the Browns who stuck with their plans to visit Alabama's beaches despite the Gulf oil spill that has had a disastrous effect on the area's tourism-driven economy and the announcement that tomorrow's show would have to be postponed.
"How many of you heard the bad news and came anyway?" he asked between songs.
The crowd roared.
"Aren't you glad you did?" Buffett asked.
Again, the crowd roared.
That Buffett planned to play an unannounced gig was a closely guarded secret.
Many Lulu's employees were left in the dark until moments before the show. Inquisitive servers who wondered why Buffett's road crew was on the grounds were told that because they were already in town, they had been hired on to help prepare for concerts that would bookend the beach show, said Johnny Fisher, the restaurant's general manager.
Even Gulf Shores Mayor Robert Craft, who had begrudgingly pulled the plug on the big event Monday afternoon, didn't get wind of the secret show until this afternoon.
Buffett, who wore a T-shirt on which he had scrawled "We'll be back Sunday," was ferried to the show via the Intracoastal Waterway by a boat that moored near the outdoor stage.
"It was a hard secret to keep," Fisher said. "Jimmy wanted to play as soon as the other show was canceled."
Once it was clear Buffett was there to jam, the news coursed through Internet and cell phones.
Cars overflowed onto nearby roads for several blocks in every direction.
