A Look Before All The Work

Today it looks like this, hopefully soon, it will look a lot different.
Yes, it's time for a re-do at Coastal Charm. Here is the list of things that we will be doing to update our home.
1. Install a new front door.
2. Make and install a sliding barn door (it will go between the foyer and family room).
3. Remove the popcorn ceilings in the family room...foyer...master bedroom...master bath...guest bath.
4. Install can lighting in the family room and master bedroom (we will have a pro do this).
5. Have new carpet installed in all the bedrooms and home office.
6. Paint family room...master bedroom...master bath and foyer.
7. Hang new drapes in the family room.
8. Install planation shutters in the guest bedrooms.
9. Install board and batten in the foyer (this is still a maybe).
That's all!!! Okay y'all, I'm not sure how long all of this will take us to complete, but I am so ready to get started. Since I make so much of my inventory for the shop, it's going to be really hard to get all of this done quick. So, be sure to hang in there with me during the next few months to see the finished look. The rooms that we are painting will be painted white, so if you have a favorite shade of white, please share with us.
                                                                 Blessings,
                                                                     Linda

The walls will be white...a new end table will be added
next to the sofa and all the wall décor will get moved
around or exchanged for  new décor.

I am adding at touch of blue
                                                            in the family room.

This "old door" is new to me.
I found this beauty, while I
was out of town on a junkn'
                                                                  trip.

It will stay in the family room,
but it will get moved to another
                                                                            area.

                                                                 source
We are still trying to decide if we
want to install board & batten in
                                                               our foyer.

                                                 After removing this wallpaper,
this room is really going to look
                                                                  so different.

Hey y'all, this DIYer is so ready to get started.
Pin ItI'd love for you to stay connected with Coastal Charm...so come on over and join me there!!!

  3. LInda that is quite the list. Everything sounds wonderful.
I just put up the board and batten in my foyer and love it. It was really easy to do and it makes such a statement. I think you will love it.

  12. Wow...I just finished an 8 week master bath redo...gutted to the studs and I am sooooo over renovations. Yours should be so much more fun as there are many things you are doing they each seem manageable on their own. .....Except that messy popcorn ceiling removal! Keep us posted

  15. Your list made me tired, just reading it! ;o) It will look great when it's completed. It seems like Benjamin Moore White Dove is the color a lot of bloggers use.

  17. Lots to do but you will enjoy the fresh new look. We tackled removing popcorn ceiling texture on most of the main floor over the last year, and painted too. I love the fresh look. We are also debating board and batten in our small front entry. With the guys and their boots getting kicked off it might be easier to keep up with scrubbing the white and freshening periodically.

I am sure you are going to enjoy the process. :)

  19. How exciting Linda! Change is always fun. A lot of work, but so worth it in the end. Love, love that old door! I have board and batten on one wall in my craft room and love it. I am wanting to hang tongue and groove horizontally in my laundry room and paint the floor white in our living room. Thinking I will wait till Fall to do the floor. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
    hugs,
