An Oldie But Goodie

I have added a little touch of charm with this unique piece that I found while I was out thriftin' one day. When I first saw it, I knew I wanted it...I had no idea what it was ,but I knew just what I was going to do with it. Just as I picked it up and was looking at it...another customer came up...I asked her what she thought it was...she was clueless too. She thought I was going to put it down and walk away and when I didn't, she said...you really don't want that old thing...you bet I do...it's going up on a wall and display black and white photos. The look on her face was  priceless...she had no idea that she was talking to somebody that is always thinking outside of the box and with a $6 price tag...she was mine! What do you think this piece is? Mr.CC is guessing that it was part of an old aluminum screen door...I think he might be correct. As I said...my first thought was to display pics on it...but it would also be fun to hang jewelry or display Christmas cards...the possibilities are endless. Since I'm still on vacation...thought I would share this oldie but goodie with y'all...I'm sure some of my new friends have not seen it...since this was a post from 2/11. While you are out thriftin' remember to always think outside the box and happy thriftin' ladies! Don't forget my WILLOW HOUSE GIVEAWAY...it ends Sunday at midnight.
Take care and I hope you all
                               have a wonderful weekend,

Looks like it belonged on some type of "cage", or perhaps an old ?bed? LOVE how you "thought outta that box," girl!

  2. Don't know what it is, but I would have bought it, too! (And my hubby would roll his eyes and think "she's really lost it!"...something he does quite frequently.) Love your idea of displaying photos on it.

  8. Hi Linda! Something about it reminds me of an old freezer rack. I love how you have chosen to use it, too. And if you ever tire of the old look...there's always ORB in a can! I did a post about thinking out of the box a few months ago. It's fun, but I'm not as quick as you were with this one. :) Thanks, Helen

  15. Whatever it is it looks fantastic! I was thrifting and did not get an old crib spring that I STILL THINK about! Yours might be part of a cage? Good conversation piece!

I'm getting wiser in my old age, I've learned to where running shoes when I go picking;). An old freezer grate yeah?
