I Think I Need To Have A Giveaway

I so wish I could share with all of y'all our huge supply of "home grown tomatoes"...these delicious goodies were grown by my darling hubs...Mr.CC. Now this man doesn't know how to plant just a few plants...he plants way more than we can ever use...he has spent several nights (mostly very late at night...past my bedtime) putting these up in the freezer...he even had to take some to his MIL's house...ran out of room in our freezers. One day I put together several goodie bags filled with them and attached a little note...got in my car and made a tomato run to family and friends. My brother was soooo surprise when he opened the door and found this cute bag filled with one of his favorites...thanks little sis...now don't thank me...thank your BIL...he did all the hard work. I would have been happy to add my friends in blogland, but you all know...gasoline is way to high! As I was washing these bad boys one day...I told Mr.CC...it's to bad that I can't have a TOMATO GIVEAWAY...wonder how many of y'all would had entered. I asked Mr.CC to PLEASE stop picking them, because HONEY we have a wedding to pull off in just two weeks and these tomatoes are just in my way (I can't believe I really said that). We have not been able to use our kitchen or dining room table in weeks...working on table displays for the wedding has taken over and we are now eating in the family room.
Glad that you came by and I
                                                           hope you have a
                                                            great weekend,
                                                                  Linda
Look how pretty these guys are!!!
I wasn't kidding...they have taken over my kitchen!

Several weeks ago...this is what we had.
We both do love some good ole
                                                       fried green tomatoes!

Thanks Mr.CC for all your hard work!

  4. Wow, now that is a lot of tomatoes. Think of all the health benefits though. I may grow some in pots next year because I remember my parents growing them. I hope to try making salsa and tomato sauce. Good luck with the continued wedding plans, time flies!

  7. Lucky you to already have tomatoes! We usually don't have any to harvest until late July or even early August.... I make mine into tomato sauce because it's way easier than peeling them for anything else!

Good luck on the upcoming wedding planning and "doing"!

  9. I soooooo know what you mean. We planted 56 tomato plants and my kitchen has been taken over by tomatoes, too. I have already put up about 20 quarts and there are many more on the vines. I cannot imagine having an upcoming wedding on top of the tomatoes!

  15. Hi Linda, It is BLT sandwich time with all of the tomatoes. Your other half sounds like my brother, who has entirely to much time on his hands since he retire. He plants entirely to many plants. My SIL makes tomato juice. I do hope you will share some of the wedding pictures with us. Have a great weekend. Your Missouri Friend.

  27. Wow! That is a LOT of tomatoes! My plants are loaded, especially the grape and cherry tomato plants and they are just starting to ripen. I also have a ton of basil so I usually dice the tomatoes and combine in freezer bags with shredded basil. I just LOVE how fresh tomatoes taste -- unlike the styrofoam ones in the store!

  41. What a great harvest of tomatoes! Mr. CC is quite the urban gardener! And you will be able to enjoy them throughout the winter! If you get to the point of just too many, let the folks at church know you have plenty of tomatoes for whoever would like some. We have done this. A bunch of folks, after services, met us at our truck. Thank you for joining TTF and have a great weekend!
