Veggie Time

Oh my...it's finally here...IT'S VEGGIE TIME at Coastal Charm! My sweet hubby has planted one awesome veggie garden this year and we are already enjoying it. I could eat veggie plates several times a week and never get tired of them...how about you? Does anyone remember that I said in an earlier post that I was not a fan of squash? Well I told Mr.CC that I would try his homegrown squash and get this...I LOVE it! Tonight we had fried green tomatoes, corn on the cob, butter beans and squash...all we were missing was some good ole homegrown watermelon...they will be ready in a few weeks.
Hope you have a wonderful day and
please be sure to come again,
                                                                 Linda

  1. Hi Sweetie...
Boy does that ever look YUMMY. I can't believe that your garden is already being picked. I thought it took a little longer than this. WOW are you ever lucky. Makes me hungry just looking.

Here in the desert, I decided to experiment, water is scarce so I only planted 1 patio tomato plant in a pot on the patio in a cage. It already has 9 tomatoes, fairly large size, about tennis balls, but not ready to pick yet. Still green. I have SO been craving a really good tomato. Wish me luck.

I can remember so many Sundays, driving to Grandma's house. She would have a big pot of butter beans cooking on the stove. My fondest memories are standing with a spoon, just dipping bite after bite. I loved those things. Thanks for the wonderful memory Linda. You took me home.

Many hugs and much love, Sherry

  13. Holy MOLY.... We are NO WHERE near the veggie garden supplying food around here. It's nasty, rainy and gloomy. I bought my annuals and can't even get out to plant them..... YUKKY.

The dinner sounds delish. Squash is one of my favorite things.

    Blessings,
    Spencer
