My First Tablescape Thursday

Here we are at my FIRST Tablescape Thursday...guess it's okay for my FIRST one! I love the simple look of BLACK and WHITE so this is what I wanted for my FIRST tablescape. I used a mixture of items...everything from family antiques to dollar store bargains! Take a look around and I promise my next one will be much better...thanks sooooo much for looking!

Grandma's White Wednesday

This week I'm posting about two of my favorite treasures that belonged to my GRANDMA. When time came to clean out my grandparents house... I only had one request...can I PLEASE have that CUTE little white CHICKEN from her dresser? Yes...my request was honored and now I was her new owner...I was one happy gal. As a little girl, I had always admired this little chicken candy dish that sat on her dresser filled with her HAIRPINS...yes hairpins! I didn't know as a child that it was a candy dish...boy I sure would have been disappointed. I also came home with several other items from their home and this wardrobe was one of them. I painted it WHITE and it has been used in my cottage...oldest daughter used it in her condo at college and now it's located in my youngest daughter's room here at home. This wardrobe is by no means a fine piece of furniture, but to me it's worth a million bucks!

I guess GRANDMA wanted to keep the little ones away from her cute CHICKEN dish...so we got HAIRPINS instead of CANDY!

Family treasures...they don't get any better than this!

I did add these cute glass knobs.

I'm joining the following parties today with my GRANDMA's WHITE TREASURES!

Just a SWINGING!

I'm a huge fan of SWINGS...I can spend hours with a great book or magazine and just swing away! My favorite place to swing is out on my balcony at the beach watching the surf and of course...PEOPLE WATCHING! When we sold our beach house in 2008 the buyer asked for two things to remain...guess what?...yes you are right...they wanted my SWING!!!! I was soooo sad because I knew I had to let it go. Houses were not selling at the beach at this time and we were sooooo lucky that someone was buying ours...soooo GOODBYE buddy...I sure hope your new owner will LUV you as much as I did! A month later my SWEET hubby bought me a NEW swing and I'm lovin' it now. I have one question...are you a FAN of swings too?

Oooh...I LUV the cushion...soooo inviting!

This is my DREAM swing...a BED SWING.This photo was taken right here in my area at a home on the bay. I do have a swing on my balcony at my beach condo that folds out to make a bed, but it's not near as neat as this one!

La France

Welcome to La France...beyond its ornate tiled doorstep, the cheerful shop bursts with clothing, hats, shoes, jewelry and other objects from the past 100 years and more. Located in Ybor City, I discovered this AWESOME shop while I was in Tampa for the Outback Bowl. I knew this shop was a must see, as soon as I saw the window displays...and boy was I right. The shop was full of customers and it was very hard to get pics of all the neat items, but I was able to get a few. I have never seen a VINTAGE clothing store that was sooooo full of merchandise and soooo organized...hats off to her owner! If you are ever in the Tampa area...check La France out...you will be glad you did!

AWESOME window displays!

If shoes could only talk...I'm sure we would love hearing about all the places they have been to!

VINTAGE HATS...they are soooo much FUN to display in you home...I have some in my dressing area outside my master bath.

Can you picture your HUBBY in these?

I'm going over to Suzanne's party...so please join me!
