I don't know about you, but I believe in miracles. Around 5:00 p.m. on 8/29/14, a miracle happened and it was because my two daughters lives were spared in a head on collision. Our almighty God had his hands on them and because of that, they are here with us today. Thursday morning Mr.CC and I left home for a long weekend holiday. This trip was all about kicking off the college football season and watching our Auburn Tigers play there first game. We were staying at a friends condo at Lake Martin, so a little bit of lake fun, was also part of our plans. Our daughters were joining us there, when they got off from work Friday afternoon. As they were headed north on the interstate, a truck that was headed south, had a tire blowout and it caused the driver to loose control and cross the interstate and hit my daughters car head on. Haley and Mary Claire, are both very sore and bruised, but the x-rays didn't show any broken bones. They are both going to be checked out again on Tuesday, just to play it safe. We don't have any info about the condition of the other people involved in accident, at this time. I am sharing this story with you today because I want to reach out to anybody who doesn't wear a seat belt...PLEASE BUCKLE-UP!!! Seat belts save lives y'all...just ask my two girls. If my daughters had not had their seat belts on Friday, they would not be here today. They were both told by all the emergency personnel that attended to them, that without their seat belts, they would had been thrown out of the windshield and we all know what that outcome would have been. Mary Claire (Haley was the driver) was able to call us right after the collision and when she told me what had happened, all I could think about was, how blessed I was. Yes, I was extremely blessed that I was speaking to her and that both of my children had just survived a high speed head on collision. To everyone's surprised, I stayed fairly calm. We called our son-in-law and other family members and hit the road toward them. I would like thank my dear friend Rhonda from the blog...Blue Creek Home. Rhonda and her husband helped us load our car and get off. The three hour trip was the longest trip ever for the two of us. We were so lucky that several of our family members stepped in and rushed to the hospital, since we were so far away. We will be forever grateful, to all of them. Also, I would like to express my gratitude to Mary Claire's sweet friend Leslie. Leslie and Mary Claire were talking to each other on the phone when the accident occurred. Yes, poor Leslie heard the screams and collision, as she was driving about ten miles behind them. She put on her emergency flashers, got in the emergency lane and headed to the scene. Another reason that we were blessed. Having Leslie there with them, I know helped keep them calm and we were in direct contact with her. After a close call like this, things change for sure. I love my blog, but I have decided to take a short break from it. I don't know if it will be a week or three weeks, but I will be back!! All I want to do right now is, spend time with my family. I do want to thank everyone who has reached out to me in the past few days. Your prayers have been felt and your comments mean the world to me.
Blessings,
Linda
It melted my heart, when they told me that they were
holding hands, as they were strapped down on stretchers
in the ambulance...these two have always been so very
close and they still are!
If you know someone who doesn't buckle up,
please share this story with them and beg them
to start today!!!!!
This is my daughters Toyota Camry.
Thank you Lord, for keeping my
sweet girls safe during this tragic
accident. I know you must have
BIG plans for them on this earth.
Wow! Yes, it is a time to thank the Lord for his protection!!!
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
Linda I am so happy they are both OK. God did indeed have his arms around them. Sending big hugs to all and take that blog break, we will be here when you return. Miracles do happen and this was one for sure!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
WOW- so grateful they are safe. and it looks like that car did it's job well, too with the way it took the impact and protected the windshield.
ReplyDeleteWhat a frightening start to the weekend and so happy to hear they are safe. You are right-on about those seat belts!!
ReplyDeleteThank God they're ok. What a shock nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteI do believe in miracles Linda! Oh my heart. When I read your account I sensed the emotion of the time and how God kept your girls calm, brought their friend along as well. (I can't even imagine the terror she felt.) The fact that they took the impact head on and not on an angle is amazing. That alone was huge. God definitely preserved them and for that I rejoice with you.
ReplyDeleteBig big hugs to you friend!!
Sharing tears of happiness today that your girls are safe! Take the time you need to spend with your family.
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrible experience for you all and what a wonderful, happy ending!
ReplyDeleteI tear up every time I read about this Linda. Enjoy your family. We will be here when you decide it is time to come back. Many hugs my friend!
ReplyDeleteOh LInda how scary to see the front of their car. By the grace of God they are still here and ok. So happy you have both your girls and they are ok. You are truly blessed.
ReplyDeleteKris
I could barely stand to look at the photo of the accident - you certainly have something to celebrate today - (how easily life could have changed in a horrific way is so terrifying ). That your daughters held hands melted my heart.............
ReplyDeletexoxo
Wow, that's quite an impact. They must have been terrified seeing it coming. I'm impressed that a car that size did so well in protecting its passengers, but thank goodness it did!
ReplyDeleteWhat a scary story, I am so happy they are ok. A seatbelt saved my life once when a mustang I was a passenger in was sideswiped on the passenger side. The car was totaled. I was sore but in one piece without even any major injuries. Seatbelts do save lives!
ReplyDeletePraise the Lord, Linda!
ReplyDeleteI am thanking him right now!
Linda,
ReplyDeleteYes, you are very blessing indeed! And thank God your daughters are safe but please make sure they are checked out again and even by your family Dr. because things may take a bit of time to show up in such an accident.
I too had a similar accident where my life flashed before my eyes and I thought I would never see my son and husband again. It was years ago but I never go anywhere without a seat belt and I thank God every day that I am still here and have been able to watch my sons grow up...
I understand completely about taking a break. Sometimes we are all reminded of our priorities and blogging is not a big one in the Scheme of life!
Enjoy your family and Thank God for them..
Hugs,
Deb
Yes! I believe in miracles and I'm thanking and praising the Lord with you.
ReplyDeleteYes, Thanks to God for saving your daughters' lives. God is good.

Praise be to God - whew, I am so glad they are safe and hope no one was too injured.
ReplyDeleteHow SCARY, Linda. Yikes.
Your daughters are so beautiful, I am so thankful for them to be unharmed - so glad they were wearing their seat belts!
Dear Linda..
ReplyDeleteI was so touched by your post. I am rejoicing with your family over YOUR Miracle.. Thank God for His mercies and protection!Thoughts and prayers to you all as you all heal from this traumatic experience.
Blessings,
Tamara
Linda, I can only imagine your horror when hearing about the wreck and seeing the car! Praise God that He had His hand on your daughters! What a blessing that they are okay!
ReplyDeleteGod is good! I know He held them in His hands during this scary wreck. I'm so glad they are ok. Take the time to hug, cry, and make memories. Just breath and enjoy the moments.

OH MY! How thankful you must be. It shows how precious life is when you go through this. Sending hugs to you and your daughters.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that both of your girls are okay. Seeing the car, there was definitely someone protecting them. I was in a wreck once with my car looking about the same, but also walked away unharmed. I honestly felt like there was someone wrapping their arms around me as the crash occurred. While horrible things seem to happen, it is always comforting to know that God is with us.
ReplyDeleteLinda, my heart beat faster and tears welled as I read this. Thank goodness for your miracle! Both my girls traveled this weekend (though not together), and I am always comforted by whispered prayers being answered when they text me to say they're there, leaving and back home again. God bless you all.
ReplyDeleteRita
How terrifying for all of your family. Yes, there are miracles. I have added all to our prayer list.
ReplyDeleteGod grant you grace and serenity to heal your family.
Praise the Lord! Oh Linda, what an incredible story. It could have been so much worse, but still such an awful ordeal for your beautiful daughters and your entire family. Enjoy your time with your daughters and know that I'll be keeping all of you in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Linda! Thank God they were wearing their seatbelts and are ok. I bet that three hour trip was so hard to get to their sides!
ReplyDeleteMy son was in a bad car accident last year. The sheriff's office told me they found him unconscious, with his hands on the wheel, seatbelt on. She said more often than not when they find a 22 year old, they are not wearing their seatbelts and the outcome is much different. She was so thankful that he was smart enough to wear it. (me too!!!)
My prayers are with your family for a full recovery for everyone.
Take care,
Pam
Thank God! How very scary to hear and so relieved to hear they are okay.
ReplyDeleteOH how very scary, Linda! I am SO glad they are okay...sending prayers for all...xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou are truly blessed Linda, I am so thankful that your girls are safe...you are wise to take time with family now~

Oh my gosh ... so sorry, but, so glad that your beautiful girls are okay!!!! So very scary, indeed.
ReplyDeleteSending y'all hugs and prayers.
ReplyDeleteMy son is 15 and learning to drive and I've told him he is not allowed to move the car one inch unless all of his passengers are buckled up.
ReplyDeleteThank God above for your miracle!!!!
so glad they are ok.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine what this must have been like for you and your husband, not to mention the girls. As a mother my heart goes out to you, Linda! I am so glad they're all right. Blessed indeed!
ReplyDeletexo Kathleen
Oh dear oh dear...Every parents nightmare!! Yep an angel had his arms around them. Take all the time you need and we will all be here when and if you come back
ReplyDeleteCarol
Thank you, Lord, for keeping your children safe from harm!!!
ReplyDeletexoxo laurie
Oh, my goodness. I am so glad they are okay. How kind of you to think of others by reaching out with your seatbelt message, too.
ReplyDeletethankful to serve an Almighty God who is powerful to save...and that he spared your daughters!!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness!! Gives me chills just thinking about it. I'm so thankful for your family to be ok.
ReplyDeleteOh Linda...I am so grateful your girls survived this accident unscathed! How horrifying for them and for you and your husband. I can't imagine what you all must have been going through on Friday. As an ER nurse I have witnessed first hand what happens when set belts are not worn...this is a wake up call for anyone who does not buckle up! It is totally understandable for you to want to take some time to be with family after an ordeal like this...you will be missed while you are away but really take all the time you need! May God continue to bless your family.
ReplyDeleteXO Barbara
Oh, how very scary! I'm so glad they are OK!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Cristina

I can't imagine how terrifying this must have been for your family. Thanking God with you for your girls' protection!
ReplyDeleteI'm praising the Lord with you, Linda!!!! Love on those sweet girls and take it easy!
ReplyDeleteI do believe in miracles and the Lord saved them that day. The story is so touching about them holding hands. I think you should take as much time as needed with your family. Stories like this remind us how fragile life is and you need to live in the moment. It reminds us to always tell our loved ones that we love them. Thank you for sharing. Hugs, Dianne
ReplyDeleteOMG! I'm thanking God right now for your DDs! Although I know HE eas there taking care of them !
ReplyDeletePraise the Lord my friend!
Thank you for sharing.

LInda, I'm thankful your girls survived this accident and are alive and well. Accidents happen in seconds and are horrifying. I've been fortunate in my life to walk away from a serious accident. I echo your plea to wear seat belts and would add praise for air bags. Side airbags recently saved me!
ReplyDeleteTake time to be with your girls. This is a traumatic experience.
I am rejoicing with you at God's protection over your daughters!
ReplyDeletePraise God!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lord, for watching over these precious girls and keeping them safe.
ReplyDeleteGod is good....all the time! Tears and joy for God's grace for your family.
ReplyDeleteGiving praise & thanks to our Heavenly Father for protection of His & your loved ones. I will be praying for a speedy recovery. Thank you for reminding everyone that seat belts save lives (God & seat belts save mine & my hubby's lives in a horrible accident in 2010).
ReplyDeleteI am so glad your daugthers are safe and sound. Thinking of you....I'm a mother too ....
ReplyDeleteLinda,
ReplyDeletePraising God for keeping your girls safe. How very scary. I am so glad they are ok. Enjoy your family. We'll be here when you return.
Blessings,
Cecilia
So, a week later, and after talking to you yesterday, I was glad to hear the girls are back at work. It sounds like they still aren't back to normal quite yet - continuing to pray for them.
ReplyDeleteAl and I were happy to do what little we did.
Rhonda
Oh, Linda, I'm so thankful to hear that your daughters were kept safe in what could have been a very tragic accident! (How sweet that they were holding hands and are so close)
ReplyDeleteGod is so good!!
Susan
Praising God with and for your family! His Mercies!!! Blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteLinda! I'm so glad they are OK. What a terrible experience for your whole family, but what a relief that it wasn't worse! Hope they recover as quickly as possible.
ReplyDeletePraise God for sparing your daughters' lives! So touching that they were holding hands. All the sudden the really important things take priority, don't they. So glad this turned out well, and I hope it is a lesson to anyone who doesn't always wear their seatbelt. I hear that so many young people don't, and I cannot understand why.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh... that car is a scary sight. Thank goodness you daughters are safe.
ReplyDeleteGulp!!! Thank the Lord, Linda!!! My middle son does NOT put on his seat belt all the time even tho I nag him about it whenever I am in the car with him. He recently had a baby...I told him now he needs to do it for the baby if not for himself. I will share your girls' story with him too.
ReplyDeleteSo thankful to God for protecting your daughters! I love your blog and have been wanting to look you up when I go visit my son who is attending USA. Enjoy your time with your family!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is such a scary story. You and your family are truly blessed that everyone was okay. You are amazing to have stayed calm. I'm so glad everyone is okay. All the best to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteJenise @ DIYFunIdeas.com
That is truly a miracle. After seeing the car you cannot doubt that. They are beautiful girls. I am so glad they are safe. I hope the others involved are o.k. My thoughts are with you-very scary. Michelle
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine the range of emotions you've felt over the last several days. I'm so glad everyone is ok.
ReplyDeleteJust read and came back to say take care. Im glad they are okay, Im glad there's God. I am also glad it was a Toyota. I have seen the car save lives. Wishing a speedy recovery to your daughters.
ReplyDeleteHugs! I have chills over your story!!!!! XO
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrifying experience for you all! I am so glad the girls are okay! Blessings and prayers sent your way!
ReplyDeleteSo glad they are ok. It's so scary on the road. Confession, I don't drive long distances myself. I have been in 3 accidents, and totaled 3 cars. The last one, not my fault, but the worst, left me emotionally and physically scarred. I have anxiety when driving to this day. Sending hugs your way.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Linda I came to your blog this morning to join the Show and Share Party and saw this. I don't blame you for wanting a break from blogging to hold your family close. So glad your daughters are going to be okay. A parent's worse nightmare. Thinking of you and your family at this scary time.
ReplyDeleteMarie@The Interior Frugalista
What an awesome testimony. Thank God for sparing your babies lives. This indeed is a blessing. Enjoy your family.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to hear your two beautiful daughter are ok...by the look of the car...YES a miracle did happen and you all were bless and saved what could have been a awful situation. Love those girls and cherish every moment you can! This here shows life can be shortened at any given moment...God is Good!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that your daughters are alright. I will keep them in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteA miracle for certain! So glad they are alright and all is well.
ReplyDeleteMiracles happen for those who believe....
ReplyDeleteThank you Jesus for your watch, care and protection. So thankful that all is well. Prayers for those in the other vehicle.
ReplyDeleteGood grief, Linda, I just saw today's post from you referencing this post and I jumped to it. I don't know how I missed this. I think it is amazing that they are okay, and with no injuries either! I'm sure they were shook up and in a bit of shock. I teared up when you say they were holding hands. They have a wonderful bond it sounds like. Good that you took some time to spend with your family.
ReplyDeleteWow, Linda! As a mother I can imagine your fear hearing about the accident. Thank God they are okay, their car was a mess.
ReplyDeleteHus,
Sherry
So glad the family is alright! What a miracle indeed- can't even tell it was a Camry !! Blessings and healing and love to your family oxoxox
ReplyDeleteReading about your daughters gave me the chills. I'm so glad they are safe.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad it wasn't worse. Make sure they do get checked out and follow up with the doctor if pain isn't getting better. After his head on collision with a drunk driver back in Decemaber, my hubby was walking around for months with a severed tendon in his ankle and crushed bone because the family doctor somehow missed it and kept telling him he shouldn't be in pain.
ReplyDeleteThe driver who hit him wasn't wearing her seatbelt and spent months in the ICU.
