DIY Easter Cross

Easter is just a few days away and one of my favorite songs is...THE OLD RUGGED CROSS. Do you know this song? Well, if you don't, then you might want to find it online, and I am sure that you will love it too. I mention to Mr.CC that I would love to have an rustic looking cross for the front yard and he delivered ASAP!!! I tell ya, that man is a keeper. My cross reminds me of this beautiful song. I hope that I am sharing with everyone that drives by, that Christ died for us and I pray that it warms their hearts, as it does mine. When I see it there in my yard...my heart is filled with joy...because one day...I know that I will get to meet him...and what a wonderful day that will be! Hope you all have a wonderful Easter with your family and friends.

  1. Linda,

Such a heartfelt reminder of exactly why we celebrate Easter. So many times we get caught up in the activities that we tend to forget about our Christ.
    Beautiful, thank you.

  8. What beautiful words here, Linda. I need to make one of those crosses (and there's something so touching about that cloth you draped over it). Our Lord conquered the grave, and one day every knee shall bow. I also like the song "Old Rugged Cross." Great post.

    XOXO,
    Meredith

  9. What a wonderful man your husband is, you ask and you shall receive! I love your cross, and the 'shroud' you have draped over it. Totally showing the meaning of Easter. And it is a beautiful song...

  10. Your cross turned out beautifully, and I too love The Old Rugged Cross!
Our church is passing the crosses out to members with a purple cloth, black cloth for Good Friday and a White cloth for Easter. I'm glad they are popping up all over town!

  12. Lovely. I try to photograph them at churches, at Easter, especially when draped in purple.

  13. It's perfect Linda and I love the fabric you draped over it. I remember my mom singing The Old Rugged Cross when I was young. It brings back so many good memories.

  20. What a wonderful reminder to everyone about why we celebrate Easter. Leo sings in our church's choir and they sang "The Old Rugged Cross" last evening at our service. Leo was very emotional because that was his father's favorite hymn. I hope you and your family have a blessed Easter!
