My Kitchen Reveal

Well, here it is, minus curtains! If, I waited until I got the curtains made to share this room with y'all, it just might be 2013 (just kidding), but it will be a few more weeks. I did make some kitchen curtains this week, they were for Haley. You know, we always put our children first. I will say, those curtains were way overdue. I'm really behind on DIY projects because Coastal Charm Interiors is keeping me so busy. I still need to paint my huge chalkboard in my kitchen, that shade of green just doesn't work anymore. I also need to buy new seat cushions for my kitchen chairs and bar stools(they also need a new paint job) , so when I get more things done, I will come back with part 2 of the reveal.
                             Thanks for coming by y'all,
                                           Linda

                                    Here it is...PART 1

The new wall color is Valspar-
                              Coastal Villa...I'm  happy
                                with it and that makes
                               Mr. CC VERY HAPPY!!
                                A different way to display
                               some of my white ironstone.

This is where my huge chalkboard will
be going, after she gets a new color.
The frame with pic will be moved to
                                   another wall in the kitchen.

                                 Rusty old scale...$12 treasure.
                              Mr.CC's old wooden apple basket.
I'm still not sure what color that I will
                         paint my bar stools...any ideas?

Looking forward to trying out some recipes
                                   from my new cookbook.
                                     A few vintage goodies!

                                My new tiny side table...isn't
                                           she a cutie?

Come to my NIFTY THRIFTY TUESDAY
PARTY this week and find out what an awesome
deal that I got on some of my ironstone dishes that
                                             you see here.

  3. Love the paint color! Your kitchen looks wonderful! I like the pop of color in your bar stools, so if you change the color pick one that pops! Glad your booth is keeping you so busy, I don't know how I missed it, but I did not know you were opening another one! Oh, man that will keep you busy. I have just the one booth and I am trying to get stuff ready for for the Fancy Flea I am doing in april, I feel like I am treading water!

  7. Looks wonderful! I'm going to be doing a kitchen makeover in the new few months and I'm just soaking up ideas. I really love the way you painted the hutch white. I'm kinda scared to paint mine as it belongs to my mom and it's natural dark wood, but I hate dark wood. thanks for the inspiration :)

  17. What curtains? : ) I was too busy drowning in that great color and all your pieces, Linda! I think it looks great! I love your vignettes and a chalkboard will look perfect over that console. I'm looking forward to seeing that! That orange/red color you have accented around ~ how about that for the stools with maybe a little distressing and dark wax so it's not too bright.

  18. Love your kitchen! Great idea for the grate (haha!) I would paint your bar stools in the two colours that are on your walls - say the seat and crossed bars in the creamy white and the frame and legs in the Coastal Villa. I'm so in love with two-tone these days :)

    Beautiful job!!

  21. So beautiful! I love the floors! I love all the details in your arrangements! I see those stools a dark brown. Maybe pull a brown color from your granite. Love the gray walls! I've been trying to figure out how to use dark brown and gray together in my own home. YOU are such an inspiration.

  26. Your kitchen looks wonderful!
I agree with Kathy on painting the chairs an orange/red color, it will make them pop and go so well with the other accents of the same color in the room. I really love the two plates hanging above them.

  31. I like it all, particularly the way you hung the ironstone. I concur with someone else who said chocolate on the bar stools unless that isn't a bright enough pop for you, then maybe yellow? Red? I'm the worst at the color thing. Chocolate. Can't go wrong with that.

  33. Hi Linda! Love your kitchen, it looks so good. You really incorporated so many fun and interesting elements. LOVE the apple basket, and I love the way you hung the iron stone. On the stools, how about a pop of red? And then heavily distress them.

  35. It looks great!! I love the wall color. I'm going to file that one away in case I ever need it... I was kind of thinking a black for the stools- either chalk paint'ish or the other extreme - a high gloss black. I also like the chocolate idea someone else suggested - always a hit!

  36. totally fabulous, Linda LOVE that wall color. I'm taking note, cause that's about what I want for my master bedroom! Really pretty!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. All of your little touches made this kitchen look so good, Linda!!! How about pulling the darker color out of your granite tops to use as your bar stool color? Maybe even as the color of your new chalkboard.... I made my own chalk paint last week and it turned out great. I left a nice note for the husband to please not ball up his socks when he puts them in the hamper! LOL

  38. How about a nice shabby barn red for your bar stools? A pop of colour that you already have some accents in? I love your redo...it's beautiful! Such clean lines, but with coziness added in...great job!

  40. Everything looks so great! You did a great job. I like the color the bar stools are they pop out from everything else. If not the green then I would do a reddish brown or black. Still I like the green.

  41. Your kitchen is gorgeous! I am always envious of big kitchens as my city size kitchen is the size of a closet. Your vintage accent pieces are so pretty. I agree with all thse that voted for a pop of red for your counter stools.

  42. Your kitchen looks wonderful, just like I knew it would. I really like the wall color...it looks like the other colors just pop off of it. Everything is styled so nicely as well... Great Job!

  53. love the wall color and you accessories -
as far as the chairs - personally - i would do them to match the cream/ivory of the trip but you have a good bit of orange accents in that room - that might be a brighter more vibrant thought -
Thank you so much for sharing -
I must get this fixed so i do not have to post as

  68. Hi Linda! I do like your new cute little table, and the new wall color too. Valspar paints are great, aren't they? I also like the green on your barstools, but I know how it is--once you get the idea to change you have to do it! Try draping some towels in different colors over them to see how the colors work. Can't wait to see what you do! Linda

  80. Your kitchen is beautiful. Color looks similar to Grant Beige (Benj. Moore) which I used in my living areas. I would go with a matte black on the barstools or french linen in the annie sloan chalk paint.

  81. I saw the picture of the table where you said you will be hanging your chalkboard. My daughter is fixing up her little San Francisco apartment and did a similar vignette. She wants her dad to do a huge painting for her for the spot, but you gave me the idea for her to paint a chalkboard on the wall for now. Thanks!

  84. Your kitchen is beautiful and I adore all of your antiques! The other day I picked up a paint chip of Valspar's Coastal Villa and wasn't sure about it because it looked dark but on your walls it doesn't look that dark. Have you thought about painting your bar stools red for a pop of color?

  85. Love your Pictures and Stories ~ Great Blog thanks !

  86. I love your makeover and your kitchen, I want to replace my worktops with a similar granite to yours.

With regards to your bar stools, I think picking out a dark colour from the granite, maybe a very dark grey or slate colour would look great. It's hard for me to see the wall colour but I think they would look stunning. Maybe because they have that crossed back you could even do a little sanding of the edges to give a French distressed look to them and show some of the original wood.

Thank you for sharing such a lovely room.

    Lee :)

  87. Love the color and how it changes and softens the look of your kitchen, offering such a wonderful backdrop to your amazing things! I'm visualizing a yummy burnt orange or nutmeg for those barstools! When I think Kitchen, I think of what's appetizing. ;)
