Oh yes...we reached 101 today here on the Alabama gulf coast...triple digits are not FUN!!! I know that a lot of you are having more rain that you want and here we have not had any...it's very HOT and DRY. It's so dry that my water bill is way up and I'm keeping busy trying to make sure all my plants and flowers have enough water to keep them alive. We are 17 inches below our average rainfall for this year and I'm sure when it starts raining, it will rain for weeks. I will say that I very concerned with all this extreme weather that our country is having...severe tornadoes...flooding and record temps. Are any of you concerned too? Just heard that a tornado has touch down in Massachusetts today and they reported that the last time this has happened was in 1954. Now let's take a look at some of my thirsty plants and flowers.
Thanks for stopping by and
I hope it's cooler where
you are,
Linda
Thanks for the water...I'm soooo thirsty!!!
Yes...I'm still trying to keep all of my eight
ferns alive, so Haley has some healthy
looking ferns at her July wedding!
My window boxes like lots of water...thirsty
little fella's!!

Linda, your heat sounds so good to me. We're at the total opposite end of the spectrum with so much rain and 53 for a high today :( I want sun. I guess the saying "you always want what you don't have" is true. Wishing some rain your way :)
ReplyDeleteLinda,
ReplyDeleteIt has been very hot here today too! Your flowers look lovely despite the heat. I am going out to water mine in just a few minutes. I know they are thirsty. I don't know what's up with this weather ... it is just crazy!
Hugs,
Donna
The weather is seriously crazy. We've had hardly any hot weather in Utah, and May was the wettest on record! Over 5" of precipitation, when the average is around 2" for the month. Wish we could share!
ReplyDeleteReally hate to hear that it's so hot and dry there. It's hot here too but not into the hundreds yet. Very dry and we are on voluntary water rationing. Plus the wind has been blowing without relief for weeks and weeks.
ReplyDeleteTake care!
`
I hear ya! We are traveling from south Florida north and it keeps getting hotter. My cell said 101 when we made a pit stop.
ReplyDeleteStay cool!
I know you have to water those ferns every day too. They love water. We will be in the low ninties all week! Here come the utility bills!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers. I especially love the hydrandea. I ended up sorting stuff in the garage, not sure what possessed me to pick the hottest day to do it, lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm worried about hurricane season this year, it's been too quiet the past few years.
Your flowers look fantastic despite the heat and drought conditions.
ReplyDeleteWhatever system (el Nino, la Nina) is responsible for this crazy weather needs to move on. I wonder what the hurricane season will be like.
lovely flowers...it is hot and dry here too(central AL)...I know those that are cleaning up from the tornadoes, need this "no rain" weather...but it is killing me trying to keep everything watered! Thanx for sharing, Tiff
ReplyDeleteLinda this weather has been so crazy! I can't believe that a tornado hit Mass.! It was hot here yesterday now it is cold and then hot again. I pray that the weather starts to settle down some and that you get some rain. Your flowers look beautiful!
ReplyDeleteXO
Linda, I meant to say how beautiful your flowers are!
ReplyDeleteYour garden is so pretty Linda! I really like all your flowers and color choices.
ReplyDeleteIt's super dry here in South Texas too! Ay yi yi....my water bill is the highest it's ever been and my yard doesn't look nearly as good as yours. It's a losing battle. We're praying for rain here SOON! PS: Your flowers are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI was surprised how dry it was too - less than 35% humidity. Very strange for Alabama! But it sounds like we're stuck with the temps for a while.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers look great!
Linda, We are having so much rain you cannot believe it!! Everything s very lush. The flowers are beautiful!!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers! Hot, Hot, we are on vacation and have neighbors at home watering to keep the plants alive!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Hi Linda it's been very hot here too!! We reached the low 90's the last few days but the humidity is just awful!!! I think the humidity finally broke today. Your plants still look GORGEOUS! Yes this freaky weather that everyone if having is a little scarey. Martina
ReplyDeletePS-- Stay Cool!
How beautiful your flowers are, your certainly taking care of them, I can just imagine how much water it is taking to keep them looking that way! We were in the 90's here, I just can't imagine 101!
ReplyDeleteRondell
Linda we've had record highs in the upper 90's and we haven't had rain either. Your flower pictures are beautiful! I'm headed outside to water all of mine. I'll do a little rain dance for both of us.
ReplyDeleteKat :)
Just beautiful... Love the fern.. and all your flowers seen to love the heat...Have a great day
ReplyDeletePattie
It is HOT here too! I may have to put my potted plants in reach of the sprinklers as I don't think they will make if when I go out of town for a few days. They just wilt so fast with the heat! Your pictures were so pretty! I will wait to plant more after I get back.
ReplyDeleteLooks so pretty Linda!!!
ReplyDeleteIts hot here in NC as well. I love your flowers, they are so pretty. My flowers are coming along, just waiting for them to fill in a bit.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful flowers, Linda.
ReplyDeleteWe're in the middle of what seems to be non-stop flooding (NW ND). Fortunately, all I have to do is sump pump my basement every couple hours. Other people have to be evacuated, so it could definitely be worse.
A tornado in MA!?! That's totally wild!
Tracy Screaming Sardine
It's pretty toasty here too as you can imagine...yesterday my car read 103 degrees!
ReplyDeleteHope all the wedding plans have come together and you can relax and enjoy this time.
XOXO!
Judy
It's 65 & breezy here today. I'll trade. Your flowers look gorgeous! My plants are torn up something awful because of a hailstorm we had last Friday. Hope you get a bit of respite from the heat. Thanks for sharing your lovely pics.
ReplyDeleteI wish plants could thrive on sweat because I could just hover over each one for a few minutes and they would be drenched!!!! It isn't quite as hot here, but just by a few degrees and I HATE it, and it just started!
ReplyDeleteYour plants look so healthy! I can't stand to be out there for long. I get the 'vapors'!
Rhonda
Linda, Thanks for your sweet comment! Your flowers are so pretty. They look like you are taking good care of them. Stay cool! Thanks for linking it up to HSH!
ReplyDeleteSherry
Prayers for your weather to settle down. Your plants look magnificient. Kuddos to you.
ReplyDeleteIt was 92' in central NY on Tues ...and last night we almost had a frost - my heat kicked on!! As for rain...we have had too much! the weather in the whole country is out of whack! Enjoy the weekend
ReplyDeleteLinda... we are over on our rainfall. TOO much rain in april and may. but NOW it's hot here too. They predict a lower than normal summer, I sure hope they are right.
ReplyDeleteYOUR flowers are gorgeous!
have a great weekend,
gail

I'm right with you on the temps over here in SW GA. Just told a friend, we need to find a sno cone or a slush! Very hot!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos!
It's hot and dry in Georgia too! Love your flowers! Hope we get rain soon!
ReplyDeleteDebbie
All your flowers look beautiful Linda, hope it cools off soon for you:@)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers, Linda. I love the droplets shot!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is HOT...love your blooms!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm not liking our rain but that is too hot even for me! Your flowers are looking just gorgeous though Linda and I hope you get cooler temps soon. :-) Thanks so much for linking up to Inspiration Friday this week!
ReplyDeleteVanessa
Your flowers all look so beautiful. I certainly hope you get some cooler temps and nice spring showers soon. I am also very concerned about this crazy weather across the country. Here in California it's been cooler than normal and we are usually very dry but have been having showers and lots of wind. By the time it moves east it turns into tornadoes. We need to get back to normal! Stay cool!! Over from Fresh Cut Friday.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you're sweltering there! Hot (90's) here in Chicago but it's raining AGAIN . . . no happy medium I guess -- too much rain or not enough! Your flowers are lovely though!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are doing a great job with your flowers in spite of the heat!
ReplyDeleteIt's been in the 80's here in Wisconsin, which is plenty hot for me. We had an enjoyable family trip last summer to Alabama and Florida, but man oh man the heat! Don't know how you survive, but I did notice that everybody moves a little slower, I did too!
Whew that is hot.Lots of work to keep those pots alive when it is hot. Lovely color combos. Love the purple and red.
ReplyDeleteThe poor plants suffer so in this extreme heat - especially container plants. Very strange weather. I don't ever remember it being like this.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, even in Georgia we are having awful temps - in the upper 90's for so many days. I am only hoping that July will be cooler than normal (ha!). Your plants still look great. I have 6 Boston ferns and 2 Kimberly Queen ferns, and they do take some water in this heat! Thanks for the tip about the vase with frog at HL. Actually, I have been looking for that to turn up either at HobLob or Home Goods....its just their kind of thing! Stay cool...well, sort of. Linda
ReplyDeleteLinda, we're having crazy weather where I am also. Usually the beginning of June is what I call the gentle part of Summer, with temps around 90-95, we call that cool. Well it's been cold, and raining. Lots of rain! And in the 70's I need a sweater. I'm not even going to complain, just enjoying it while it lasts. Your flowers are gorgeous and you always choose the most charming containers. Beautiful pics. xxx
ReplyDeleteGoodness, that is WAY to hot! yikes! You're plants are looking fabulous though. Hope those ferns keep healthy for the wedding - so far, so good.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Marie
