Hello ladies...we are now only one week away from NIFTY THRIFTY TUESDAYS ONE YEAR BIRTHDAY and the start of weekly GIVEAWAYS. I have four giveaways in place and just let me tell you...you are going to LOVE all of them...so don't forget to come by and link up each week and then enter to win some awesome stuff...you will be happy you did. Now last week I shared with you my huge free ugly picture frame and wanted you to guess what I was going to do with it...you all had some great guesses...I will say most of you thought I was going to make a chalkboard out of it and you were 100% correct...it's now a HUGE PRETTY CHALKBOARD! I have been looking for just the right frame for this project and when Mr.CC came home with this one...I knew it was the perfect one! So tell me...whatca think? I'm lovin' it and looking forward to writing messages such as bible verses...birthday wishes...holiday wishes etc. Do you have a chalkboard in your home? Would love to hear what you write on yours...so share your ideas here at NTT.
Thanks so much for coming and now
let's get this party started...there is so
much to see!
Linda
Here she is after her THRIFTY makeover!
I'm still lovin' this green color (used it in my beach condo last month)...just
having some trouble today with the lighting...believe
me it's a beautiful color!
Found this rusty old planter at an estate sale a few weeks ago
on our way home from church...$5 treasure!
Just got this garland in a cute little gift shop on my trip...it
was 90% off...can't believe that someone would pay
$45 for it...I paid $4.50...so I got three
of them. Need some help...would you use
this all year or just during the holidays?
Had some extra beadboard from the kitchen makeover last year...
Flipped it over and painted away...GO THRIFTY
and use what you have on hand!
Now this is what I did all weekend...played with this cutie pie!
My great-nephew...Blake...what a sweet
baby!
Also got to play with this little cutie too...my great-nephew...Griffin.
He made the trip up from Atlanta to spend the day with us!
My mother was in heaven with these two little ones!
At 83...she has 8 great-grandchildren...such a lucky lady!
Yes...I did have a wonderful weekend
with my sweet MOM!

ReplyDeleteLove your new chalkboard! I don't have one, but I'm on the hunt for a thrift store frame, one small problem though- the thrift store here charges $40-$60 for the size picture frame that you used! Maybe a garage sale this summer will have one! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteThat frame is beautiful as is your family!
ReplyDeleteI love the chalk board Linda. The frame is beautiful. Your mother looks like a real sweetie. She is lucky, and so are her great grand children to spend that time with her.
ReplyDeleteBlake and Griffen are darling.
Cheers,
Lisa x
That's a gorgeous frame that you used for your chalkboard. I have a frame already to go but I really have no where to put it once I make it. Eventually I will figure it out but in the meantime I have a small one on the fridge. Put the supper menu on it every morning. Thank you for letting me be a part of this fun party. xo
ReplyDeleteHi there!
ReplyDeleteI do love your chalkboard. I made a magnetic chalkboard not too long ago. We use it for grocery lists and to hang photos that we do not want hanging on the fridge. Your nephews are soooo precious!

What a great frame, Linda! I probably would have done a chalkboard, too. I found a chalkboard free {someone was throwing it out in an office downstairs from my day job!} and I have it in my kitchen. I write birthday greetings, alerts for oil or food deliveries and sometimes how I feel about the snow! : ) I did get some clearance frames from Michaels and I'm thinking a magnetic chalkboard for one and a bulletin board for the other.
ReplyDeleteThe frame turned out wondeful! Love it! And those were certainly acouple of cuties that visited you!
ReplyDeleteYour little babies are so dang cute. I love your moms face in the photos. You can just tell she was one happy lady.
ReplyDeleteI love your chalkboard. You can leave lengthy messages on that big guy!

ReplyDeleteYour great nephews are darling! Look at those chubby cheeks. I'm somewhat of a baby freak :)Happy you were able to spend time with your mom, as well. She looks so happy with the little guys! ~xo Michelle
The most elegant chalkboard I've seen! Adorable boys too!! Thanks for the idea to just paint the back of the beadboard! I have a bunch that is long and narrow, doesn't look to good from the front when it's that narrow. NTT and my blog share the same birthday! Thanks for hosting!
