The paint brushes and rollers are all cleaned up and I'm seating here on my bed and taking it on all. Can you really be IN LOVE with a paint color? Well...I am! When I saw this color last summer in one of my daughters roommates bedroom...I just knew I had to paint a room this color...so who was going to get a new paint job...answer...my bedroom at the BEACH and if I say so myself...this was a great choice. Wanna know what the color is? It's Laura Ashley-Summer Field...it makes me think of a pear when I see it and I don't even like pears, but I do like their color! Now Lindy was the only one that picked the color GREEN...congrats girl! Some of you said you thought it was going to be a sand color and some thought it might be chocolate...great choices, but those colors are already here. I moved just about everything around...nightstands...lamps...mirrors...wall art, but the bed stayed put and ready for a good nights sleep! Come along with me and take a look at my new SEASIDE ROOM!
Now y'all come back...real soon,
Linda
After a long night of painting...this is what I saw when this
OLD gal pulled herself out of bed!
Not a great pic...you need to see it in person!
Now...whatcha think?
Moved this mirror from the foyer...like it's texture in here!
Starfish...are soooooo COASTAL!!!!
See those cute little pulls?
More starfish decor...found these years ago at Home Depot and
just had to have them!
I'm really happy with how it all came together.
One of my THRIFTY finds...a new TARGET sign
that I found while I was out
yardsalen!!
Looking forward to spending many nights in my new place!
Moved a lamp from the den...seagrass...just like my bed!
Goodbye BLUE...we had an awesome seven years together!
Thanks for all your sweet comments...they really make my day:)

You know, when I read your last post I thought "oh no, I love the blue!", but I am REALLY loving that green! I have a lot of sage green in my house, and I'm always thinking that I can't do too much beachy stuff because it wouldn't go with the green. Well, CLEARLY I was wrong!
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful. It reminds me of one of the colors when the seas rolls up on the beach and curls back to the ocean. Not blue nor brown but a lovely shade of green. I love it.
ReplyDeleteLinda, that view outside your window is fantastic! The room...amazing. Very very pretty and serene. I love what you did, and you still kept it simple. Which is what you want in a vacation style home. Give yourself a big pat on the back, and pour yourself a big glass of wine ;) Well done, xoxo tami
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention, the new header and background look awesome!
ReplyDeleteI'm "green" with envy! I couldn't help myself, I had to go there....but seriously, I love that color. I have used green in my home in years past and always loved it.
ReplyDeleteHow's the weather at the beach? We may be heading to Fairhope next month. Of course, no telling what the weather will be like by then.

ReplyDeleteI bet you will be in Auburn tomorrow!
Hugs,

I really loved that blue, but the green is gorgeous!!! The view out that window is pretty wonderful too. The starfish on the wall is so pretty with the green showing through. Love everything about it!
ReplyDeleteI love this color. I have the same in my bedroom and my formal living room! Your coastal decor looks great!
ReplyDeleteLove that color! Looks great and a nice change from blue. Your furniture looks great with that color.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the blue but I love the green. The textures you have in the room are great. I love how you are so detailed the stars on the closet are so sweet.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous color, room, and view. Love it all! You did a fabulous job. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI love your room. What's funny is when we built our house, we picked a very similiar apple green shade for one of the rooms. Our builder tried to talk us out of it before the color went on the walls, then he begged us many times to repaint it before we moved in. As he brought potentional clients into our home, he made sure they understood that icky green paint color was *not* his idea.
ReplyDeleteWe did that room in green and white similiar to yours only we found a matching quilt with peach, so peach was our third color. The funny part was after the house was decorated, the builder came back and really liked that room. At that point, he admitted he never saw our vision and never thought that room would ever look good until he saw with his own eyes what the after looked like.
Also, if it doesn't stop snowing here where I live, can I hop over to the beach and stay in this room?
Love the new green color. It looks so calm and peaceful. The seagrass lamp looks great with the headboard. The starfish on the wall and pulls are so cute. I just love it all!
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous! Makes all the white just pop!
ReplyDeleteTurned out so nice...great color!

ReplyDeletethe blue was gorgeous... but the green is better! Love it! and especially love that view that you get to wake up to every morning.
ReplyDeleteNow I know why you were loving my photo of the green kitchen! This is just stunning! I'm surprised that I too like it more than the blue. I normally lean towards blue but this green is so restful looking. And the view certainly helps! Great color choice!

Yes. I think you CAN be in love with a paint color! :-) If the pictures are any indication, it's a very pretty green - fresh-crisp-putasmileonyourface green. I like it! Love the texture of the headboard against it too. Your bedroom looks like a perfectly relaxing retreat.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up to the Paint Party! Enjoy the rest of your weekend...
The green is so much more soothing and relaxing, I think. It's a beautiful room and I love the details!
