The big day has come and gone...hope all of y'all had a wonderful Christmas holiday with your family and friends...I sure did! Lots of great memories were made...some are a little SAD for Mr.CC and I because this Christmas was the last one that our FIRST BORN CHILD will be here for us to wake up and have the morning together...just the four of us. We are very excited for her and the new life that she will be sharing with the love of her life, but as parents it's still hard to see her go...just can't imagine the amount of tears that this mama will shed...HAPPY and SAD all at the same time! This week is full of appointments at bridal shops, looking for that perfect dress...please wish us some luck, as we shop for a size 0P...yes Haley is a tiny one! Monday-Wednesday we will in town shopping, then we will be in Birmingham on Thursday...have three appointments that day...then one on Friday morning...after that we will heading up to Nashville for a few days of family time together...this will probably be our last FAMILY vacation, with just the four of us...yes...another LAST thing to add to the list. Let's not forget that there will NOT be a NIFTY THRIFTY TUESDAYS PARTY this week...with that said...please be sure to come on back next week with all your goodies! I don't think I will have much time to do any blogging this week with this schedule that we have and that makes me sad, but please know that I will miss you gals! Now looking on the bright side...when I get back, I will have a ton of pics to share with all of y'all.
Take care and I hope y'all come on back
real soon,
Linda

How fun! I love to do anything that has to do with planning a wedding. Wow a size OP. I think that's smaller then one of my legs :)
ReplyDeleteLinda, enjoy this special time with your daughter! My oldest daughter was married almost 4 years ago and I wouldn't take anything for the memories. Such an awesome time in your life! Enjoy every minute of it! My youngest daughter is a size 0. Praying for you this week and also safe travels! Love & blessings from NC!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeleteYou are going to have a wonderful time with your daughter. I'm so excited for you.
hugs
Sissie
I had 2 sons and never had the joy of the wedding dress shop. Don & I wed with $40 and a borrowed wedding dress and his uniform but they are our wedding memories that I will always treasure. Be sure to stop off and on for some tea and cookies to give you energy....smile...Have fun.
ReplyDeleteHave a blast and don't get too overwhelmed~ with all that shopping! ~ Sue
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for your daughter. But, as a mom, I know where you're coming from. My daughter is that tiny, too. I hope you had fun.
ReplyDeletehave fun, linda! you deserve your family time- enjoy!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your shopping excursion. I hope your "lasts" bring you great joy. Many "firsts" will follow these bittersweet times...including first grandbabies.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! La
The lasts are always sad-but look forwars to the first's-the first Christmas with a new son in law and the first Christmas with a new grandchild, etc. Life goes on and a new family is beginning-one with more members!
ReplyDeleteOh Linda how exciting!! I remember going for prom gowns with my daughter and getting all teary eyed...I can only imagine when her big day comes!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the time with your family!!
This is such a special time between Mother and Daughter. The first time I saw my Sara in a wedding dress when we shopped I cried! The ladies in the store said, is this the first dress and when I said yes...they understood. Seems it happens all the time...oh and the first dress was the one! Have they set the date? Enjoy dear friend. hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteSounds like it will be tons of fun getting ready for the big day. Enjoy it all and take lots of pictures!
ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting time! There are so many chapters in our lives, enjoy this one with your daughter :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on Haley's pending wedding! Just remember, you are not losing a daughter, you are gaining a son. Since I had boys I thought I would miss out on the mother / daughter aspect of preparing for a wedding, but I was blessed with a great DIL and she took me along for that special ride!
ReplyDeleteHave fun! Looking forward to hearing all about it and seeing all the pictures!
~ Tracy
Fun, fun! I hope you enjoy your time together Linda.

congrats!!!! oh, i bet it is sad and happy...good luck!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a special time to be with your daughter. I hope she finds the dress of her dreams and you have fun in the process.
ReplyDeleteHave a good time with family this week and we will see you around blogland, soon :)
xx,
~Michelle
Have you watched any episodes of 'say yes to the dress'. (like you wouldn't know not to say 'that makes you look...')
ReplyDeleteHave fun shopping. That perfect dress is out there somewhere!
Congratulations again! Enjoy the special moments with your daughter making all of the preparations. When its the right dress, you will both cry. It's the truth. My aunt Patty has worked in Bridalwear for more than 30 years and I thought she was crazy for saying it. But the moment I saw my daughters dress my eyes welled up with tears!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and I went to a bridal fair in January right after she became engaged. It was the best thing. All in one location, in one short afternoon we found the right bakery, the caterer and florist. It's definately worth the price of admission if you get a chance to go to a good one.
You will have tons of fun.. and memories that will last you both a lifetime! Enjoy this special time with her!
ReplyDeleteSize 0 eh?
lol!
Smiles~
You have wonderful days ahead of you and many new memories in the making! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
You will be a great MIL and you will have five next Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy shopping....this will be a great year!
Lou Cinda
Oh, how much fun!! Have a really great week. Lots of fun stuff for you!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful week! I agree with Merrie that you will know when the dress is right when you both cry. That's how it went with my daughter, too. Enjoy your shopping trip and your vacation in Nashville! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are getting to enjoy this special time. And although this was the last Christmas as just the 4, think of how your family will grow from here on out. His family will also become part of yours and it's all good. :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your crazy busy, fun week! Hope you find the perfect dress!
Linda,
ReplyDeleteHave fun with wedding plans and enjoy it! After Jennifer's wedding this past June I do not even want to look at anything wedding related! She planned most of it but left all the little details to me. Losing Amber and then Jennifer getting married in less than a year was so emotional for me and her daddy. The wedding plans did keep my mind busy but I was so glad when it was over! Have fun looking at wedding dresses ... what is the date?
Whenever you are in B'ham just for fun let me know and maybe we can have lunch somewhere. I was at the Summit today and then on to Jennifer's house. Have fun this week and just think you are gaining a son!
Hugs,
Donna
How exciting Linda!!! This is such a special time for a mother and daughter. Enjoy every sweet step of this journey.
ReplyDeleteRhonda

Blessings on you and your family!

How exciting Linda, and I can understand your sadness mixed with pure joy! I hope Haley finds the perfect dress and that you don't cry too much when you see her in it! Happy New Year to you and your entire family!
ReplyDeleteKat :)
I know that you have mixed emothions but do enjoy the journey. You don't get many chances like this! I will be looking forward to your updates along the way so that we can enjoy the journey too!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting, Linda! I know you'll enjoy this road and all the laughter, tears (of joy!) and the big day to come!
ReplyDeleteExciting times at your house! Enjoy the wedding planning process. My youngest daughter had an out-of-state wedding 4.5 years ago -- then two days after the wedding (when I was trying to recuperate!), my oldest daughter told me it was time to start planning her out-of-COUNTRY wedding! All of this while renovating our old house. Linda, I'm here to tell you... you can do ANYTHING you put your mind to! :-) Happy New Year to you and yours!
