How about a recap of what transpired here at COASTAL CHARM in 2009? Since I just started my blog in late August...I'm very low on before pics...so I'm just going to show you a couple of things from 2009. We started our kitchen re-model in November and we still have some woodwork and window treatments to finish. I'm very pleased with my new granite countertops...sink/faucet...beadboard...light fixtures and the shade of chocolate paint that I went with...it all turned out just like I wanted:) Looks like I will be sewing some window treatments this month...wish me luck on finding just the right fabric! When I finish getting all my Christmas decor down, I will post more pics of my NEW kitchen (please remember...I was out of town all of last week...hope to get a lot of it down by Friday).
Here is a list of things that will be going on at COASTAL CHARM in 2010!
*Make window treatments for my kitchen.
*Paint all the brass that is still in my house.
*Re-model and organize my study.
*Make curtain panels for the screen porch.
*Make a headboard for my bedroom.
*Have some FUN with chalkboard paint.
*Open up the entry to my dining room from the foyer.
*Paint the dining room.
*Install a new front door.
*Install wood floors in family room...hall and dining room.
If my hubby is lucky...I will stop with this! Something tells me that his luck just ran out...I'm soooo happy that he LOVES me soooo much! Now it's time for me to get busy on some of these new projects for 2010...I promise I will do better this year with before and after pics. Thanks Kendall for hosting your first party...2009 Best of Your Nest Party and also thanks to Rhoda for hosting...Top Projects of 2009 Party.
Before pic...we lowered our bar...GREAT idea!
Happy with my new granite.
LOVE me some BEADBOARD...I have installed soooo much of this AWESOME stuff in our beach condos over the past few years!
I had a really hard time picking out a new light fixture for my morning room...it sure did pay off...I'm loving the one I came home with!
This is a small project that I did last fall at my beach condo...I had been collecting shells for this mirror and it was time to get the job done!
It's amazing what a few shells will do to a plain old mirror...very easy project!
Sooooo simple...replace those plain shower curtain rods with a "whimsical" bamboo rod...give it a try!
HELP!!!! PLEASE cover me up!
So cover them up I did...got some fabric tac and fringe...off I went to work!
FRINGE BENEFITS!!!!
I really love your beadboard, too! And it's so affordable, I think it looks wonderful in every room.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great project list you've got there, mine looks eerily similar...maybe we oughta team up and knock 'em out twice as fast? :-)
Have a wonderful week!
Anne
For just a few months of blogging you showed some great projects already. Just wait in the new year the 'need' to show something to your blogging friends will really light a fire under you - or at least it works that way for me.
ReplyDeleteHave fun working on your list of 2010, it looks very promising.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
It looks like your Hubby has quite a "Honey Do" list. Can't wait to see the transformations.
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I really need to learn how to sew! I could do so much around the house if I did. I can't wait to see all of your finished projects!
ReplyDeleteLinda, I know you are loving your new kitchen & granite. Me too! Love the granite. Thanks for joining the party. Looking forward to more fun in 2010!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh... your list is long and mighty!!! When you finish your window treatments can I send you my fabric and window measurements? ;-)
ReplyDeleteGirl - I've got a serious case of granite counter top envy. LOL That is GORGEOUS!!! As is the bead board and the light fixture and the... well, ALL of it!!!

All of your finished projects look beautiful and it looks like you have a lot of them for 2010 too. I can't wait to follow along with you on all of your new projects.♥
ReplyDeleteEven if in Aug, alot can happy in such a short time. The pictures are great. I love those pillows!!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your new kitchen! The granite is a beautiful color and the color in your dining room is beautiful!! Have a great 2010!!
ReplyDeleteYou did a beautiful job with your kitchen.....and of course you know that you won't stop there. My poor husband has come home at night and find me stripping wallpaper. Thank goodness he goes along with me. By the way, I know how proud you were of me not spending money after Christmas. I broke down on wed and for my $25 bought 10 bags of stuff. At least I held out until Wed.
ReplyDeleteOh, so many great ideas you have!! Love the bamboo curtain rod, and the shell mirror. And covering the hemline of those slip covers is brilliant. I might do that with some curtains I have that are a bit too short. Thanks for the great ideas!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your beadboard--it's gorgeous. :) Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so pretty, and adding the fringe to the slips on the chair not only hid the legs, but dressed up the chairs. Also love the pillows on the chairs. Happy 2010! laurie
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is so beautiful. I love your granite tops and your chandelier over your table is so pretty!

My hat is off to you! Whew. Happiest 2010, you! xx

ReplyDeleteHi Linda!
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice to have you visit...and I am going to be a follower too. Its so fun to start off a new year with new friends.
I do love the colour you've chosen in your home. Your kitchen counter looks great and I like a counter thats not too tall also.
Great colours and mixes and I have some shells I may do the same for a mirror for the cottage for next summer...nice. I am looking forward to experimenting with chalkboard paint too. Doesn't it look neat? Great ideas out there too.
Your home is lovely...thank you for sharing.
Have a wonderful day...weekend...and see you again soon!
